[DRAFT]

Hmm...I'd tend to agree with Lord Talon, but I began thinking the same
thing
along the way.

The way I perceived it (before reading the endnote) was as followed (and
excuse me for expressing it this way, but I'm too lazy to translate my
thoughts at the moment):

At the beginning of the manga, Ranma and all the characters are much
different than they are at the end (for example, Kasumi and Nabiki).
Within
the first chapter of the manga there are big changes. So, I thought, what
Tangent's trying to say is that if we suppose that Ranma showed up as a
guy,
Akane would be less annoyed, as that perveted boy wouldn't have looked at
her naked.

So, being that, Ranma has less need to protect his masculinity, as
he's
doesn't have to worry about the girl his fathr has chosen for him. Also,
this Ranma seems to have a slightly more intelligent bent, and puts that
to
use. It'll be interesting to see what comes of the anger thing you have
going on. It sounds a lot like a berzerker rage (an oxymoron), but that
would make him too similar to Ryoga (although, in this continutity, he may
never have got knocked into the spring of drowned pig). If it's more like
a
barbarian rage, he'd be stronger and have a better constitution, but he'd
be
easier to hit, and therefore would also be Ryogaish. Hmm...now, if it
were
Divine Anger, that'd be cool.

I can see the scene now (and this is probably gonna go into Getting
Home
Wednesday - Fit The Second, as I really like this scene [which is
available
at www.patchmonkey.net ):

"...be your fiancee," finished Soun, a slight bit concerned as to why
the room seemed slightly chillier than it did a minute before.

"Hmm. Hey, Pops," chorused Ranma and Ukyo, "Is there something you
forgot to tell us?"

"Heh...heh...I guess I forgot to tell you. You're supposed to marry
one
of Soun's daughters!"

Genma began looking away wildly as a aura flared into existence around
Ranma. The colors of the aura shifted from orange to gray to white to
black
and back again wildly, finally settling on a rotating scheme in several
seconds.

"Forgot to tell me? You forgot to tell me? What, is this something
new? You go and get you, me, and Ucchan cursed, despite that I told you
to
stay away from that place? You forgot like you forgot to read the entire
manual? Like you tried to forget Ucchan, even?"

"Well, yes, but it isn't that bad, son!"

Nabiki, Akane, and Kasumi scurried back, but continued to look on in
morbid curiousity as the black color began to overwhelm the other colors
of
his aura. "Not that bad? Not that bad!? I'll show you not that bad!
KAPPA RAY!"

The ray hit Genma, knocking him into the Tendo's koi pond. Ukyo
looked
over at the three cowering Tendo girls, as Ranma began to cool down.
"He's
not normally this bad. Ranma's just been on edge ever since we went to
Jusenkyo. We all got cursed. Ranma turns into a girl, but it has some
interesting side effects. I fell into the same pool as Ranma, but it
isn't
as noticable since I'm already a girl. And Ranma's idiot father turns
into
a panda."

"Erm. Ukyo-san, that isn't a panda," pointed out Kasumi and Nabiki.

    "Ranchan, what'd you do?"

"I dunno. But he sure did deserve it, whatever it was."

It was, in this case, a small green panda shaped kappa. "Kappa.
Kappa
kappa kappa!"

"No, you'll just have to wait until it wears off," Ranma said, looking
back towards the table. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to break your
cup, Kasumi!"

"Don't worry about it, Ranma. I'll just get a new one."

"In any case, please excuse my prior actions. I couldn't help but be
slightly angry at pops for the current situations..."

(End demo scene)

Ha ha! I love it! Not quite what I have in mind, but I love it. No, the kind
of temper Ranma occasionally exhibits in Complimenting Opposites has more
kinship to what I've seen refurred to as 'Angry Woman Syndrome' - or a flair
in temper that allows an anime girl take on impossible odds (kind of like
Linna Inverse). As Genma noted, Ranma's new temper reminds him too much of
Nodoka's. In fact, Ranma's apparently calm demeaner normally should remind
the panda-man of Nodoka as well. ^_^

This may be a bit of a spoiler for the fic ahead so...

Ryoga still turns into a little black pig in this fic, sorry.
