The cave was flat, jade, and it looked more like a
maze someone built. Someone must have built it to
protect the
diamond discus. There were three passageways.
They all stood in a row: Aknar, Maverock, Kai, Magus.
"Which way should we go?" Aknar asked. "We should
split up," Kai suggested. "No, no, no. Remember what
Aknar
was saying earlier? That could easily bring us to
our death," Magus reminded. "You're right," Maverock
said. "It
might take longer, and we might need to fight more
enemies, but we can make it." They walked through the
passage
in front of them. They walked down it when they
suddenly saw it. The skeleton of a warrior. "It must
be the warrior's
skeleton. You know the one who was defeated down
here," Kai said. The skeleton still had some flesh
hanging off of
him, and there was some clothes left. It's skull was
bloody, and so was some of it's body. It held a sword,
and a shield.
Not surprisingly the skeleton stood to it's feet as if
by magic. "I've seen some strange things, but this
tops it," Aknar
said. "Stay back everyone... I'll take care of
this... Yep just me... Me, and Magus," Magus gave an
exasperated sigh
and stood next to Aknar. Kai and Maverock back up.
Magus swung his spear at it. It hit it's arm with such
force, his
lower arm fell off, causing him to drop his shield.
Aknar swung his dagger at the skeleton, which caused
the ribcage
to break. The skeleton hadn't fought yet but he had
just started now. The skeleton swung his sword at
them, and
Magus, and Aknar jumped back. Aknar had a small cut
on the chest. Magus jumped forward again, and the
skeleton
tried to bring the sword down on his head, but he put
up his spear and blocked it. Then Magus quickly swung
at him,
and hit his ribs, breaking them all off. It's
actions slowed a little. And then Aknar ran after it
and swung at the neck
area of the spinal cord. It made a dead on it and the
bone broke off which severed his head. The skeleton
still moved,
and attacked Aknar with his sword. Aknar made a
quick move, and dodged it, while at the same time,
Magus his it
hard enough on the legs, and it broke one leg off.
It fell on the ground, and they finished it off, by
swinging their
weapons at it
rapidly.
"That was strange..." Maverock said. "Now, I am
expecting weirder things than that," Kai told them.
They continued
walking
through.
They came to another way. There was a path to the
left of them, and the continuing one, in front of
them. They stood
next
there.
Aknar looked at the other ones, and said: "If we go
down this path, and it is not the right way, we can
come back, and
go this way, so let's go to the left,"
Aknar said. "I agree, let's go," Magus agreed.
Just when they had turned into it, they saw a snake
coiled on the floor. It was a cobra, and it had not
seen them yet.
Aknar tried to walk by but the cobra stood up. It
gave a loud hiss, and looked at Aknar whose back was
against the
wall, and his sword was drawn. The cobra's side
flaps came out slowly, and it lept at Aknar. Aknar
quickly slashed
with his sword, and when he
looked, it's head was cut in half.
Aknar's father looked at him and said: "You seem to
have a great skill , in battle," After that they
continued their
walking.
Finally they came to a dead end. The shape of the
walls at the dead end were jagged and pointy, like one
of a cave,
and not like the smooth jade in the rest of the
dungeon. "Looks odd..." Kai said, as she approached
it. She inspected
the walls expecting something. Something did happen.
The wall crumbled and it all fell to the ground. They
looked
forward, and saw only darkness. "Let's go!" Aknar
yelled, ready for anything. He led and they followed
throught the
darkness. They could barely see
anything. Walking through they finally found a light.
The small room they stood in was drafty, and kind of
smelly. They looked down to see a ladder which led
down to a
room which they could see from above they all
walked down the ladder. As they walked the stench
grew.
When they reached the ground eveyone looked in
front of them. It was a large room, and the walls were
made of
marble and the ground was completely covered with
rotting dead bodies. Kai stared at them trying to hold
back from
screaming and throwing up. The bodies lie there
lifless. The ones in the back were mostly bones, but
as it got closer
to them, they were more "fresh" and the stench was
unbarable. Their bloods was all over them, and their
intestines,
hearts, livers, and bladders were out of them, as if
they had been vioenlty yanked from their bodies, by
someone, or
something. Across the room, there was a pentagram,
and read a few words which were in latin "Lunatus ex
ater atra
atrum".
"Father, you know Latin. What does that say?" Aknar
asked, as he tried to ignore the stench. He squinted
and said:
"Crescent Of Dark" Magus looked at him and said "What
does that mean?" Aknar Shrugged. "Whatever it means
its not good!" Kai yelled as a few bodies began to
rise. Soon they were all standing. "Damn!" Aknar
yelled, as he
thrusted his large dagger through one their heads.
"Run Everyone!" Aknar shouted. Kai went up first,
Aknar cut two
of the body's heads off. Followed by Magus, who was
going up when Aknar thrusted the sword through their
body,
and kicked it off with his foot, and into a few
more. Last was Maverock, and Aknar followed close
behind.
They were all standing in the room above, and the
zombie-like creatures were walking back and forth,
making horid
groaning noises. "That was a close one," Kai
mumbled. She looked down, at the bodies. Aknar said:
"What .. was
this place made by?..." As he began
walking back through the pitch dark tunnel.
They felt their way through the tunnel and came
back on the other side. They were relieved to get out
alive.
The four began to walk back to find the way they
had came, so they could search the other passage. They
were
getting very exhausted, they had been searching
for an hour and a half already. They came to the
passage.
"This way now!" Aknar exclaimed. They all began
walking, and when they turned the corner they saw
something.
The wall that was there earlier was not there
anymore. It had slid to the side. But what had come
out of it was worse.
When they looked through the Jade walls, they saw
marble. It was a seperate passage-way to the room they
had left.
The dead bodies seemed to be
pouring out o the place.
"Stand back everyone!" Aknar yelled, as he stood in
front, about to be attacked by one of the corpses. It
lunges at
him, but he held out his large dagger, and it was
speared on the end of it. Aknar quickly pulled back
the large dagger,
and swung at it's head, he got a hit. The head came
off of the body, and the body fell over. The narrow
passage-way,
was only allowing one of them to come through at a
time. Another one came after him. It's small intestine
dragging
behind him on the floor. Aknar swung downward at the
creature, cutting of it's arm. He quickly looked
behind him, to
check on his friends. His father was standing by
Magus, who was by Kai. They watched, with
anticipation.
Aknar quickly turned around again, and jabbed the
large dagger through the head of the one with no arm.
Another
creapt toward him. They seemed to be never-ending.
Aknar rammed the large dagger all the way through the
head of
the one in front of him. It stuck through the
corpses head behind it and they both fell over it.
Aknar had to jump on
the dead bodies to attack the other ones. He
quickly stuck the large dagger through the head of the
one coming
through the door, and then chopped off a corpse's
head which was coming after him from his front. He
then swung
through the head neck of another which was in front
of him, and chopped the one in back of that corpse's
head off. He
quickly closed the door to the marble room. He
yelled: "Okay, it's clear!" and they began to follow
him.
They turned another corner and a zombie out of
nowhere lunged at him, and bit his shoulder. He
screamed in pain
and pushed it away. He held his shoulder, as Kai ran
up to it and stabbed it direclty in the forhead.
"Thank you, Kai,"
Aknar said to her. "No problem. You're not the only
good fighter around here," She bragged, as she leaned
against
one of the Jade walls. "Since you are injured now,
Aknar, someone else should lead the group," Kai
suggested. "I'll
do it," Magus said as he readied his spear, and
looked at Kai. "I think Magus should," Kai said. "Me
too,"
Maverock agreed. Magus stood in front, and behind
him was Aknar, then Kai, and Maverock was in the last.
They
continued through
the dungeon.
They finally came to an end. There was a very large
marble door with stone lines going through it
horizontally. The
door looked heavy, and hard to open. "Let's go
through it then," Magus finally said. They were
standing looking at it
for a few minutes without saying anything. Magus
walked up to it, and pulled on the handle hard. The
door slowly
moved out of the way. They all slowly walked in, and
inside was a room that was made completely of crystal.
It looked
as if it was lit by magic. It was lit up like the
day, yet no torches burned on the walls. There was a
magnificent pool of
water in the middle of the room, with four pillars
around it. They all stood in awe. In the back,
something else was
written in latin: "Lunatus ex lumen". It read.
"Crescent Of Light," Maverock mumbled. "What..?" Aknar
said softly.
"That's what it says over there." They all slowly
approached the spring. Aknar decided to clean the
wound on his
shoulder: He took some of the water and laid it on the
wound. The wound slowly closed up. "Oh, my..." He
mumbled.
"Look... my wound closed when I added this water," He
said. Maverock looked at some latin on the spring. It
read:
"Lunatus ex aqua". "Crescent of Water" He said. Then
he read some more than was on it. He read: "When
water,
and light Crescents are combined, it creates
curative water." "What's a damn Crescent?" Aknar
asked, getting
frustrated. Aknar took some of the watter and put it
on his chest, where he had been slashed by the
skeleton. He
watched as the wound magically closed up. Aknar
poured out his water, and let the magic fill his
canteen. Kai and
Magus did the same. "Let's go back!" Aknar said.
They all returned, and finally got back to the place
with three
passages.
"Now which way?" Aknar asked as he looked around
him. "Left" Magus suggested. "Okay, come on then!" Kai
exclaimed. They all
followed the left path.
They came to an enemy: A large red ant. The andt was
a few feet away, and very fierce. Magus was the leader
so he
had to be first to battle... Magus ran up to it and
jab his spear, hard. He made a good hit, at one of
it's leg, and it
snapped like a small twig. The ants balance was not
as good anymore. It lept at Magus and bit him on the
chest. It
was a large wound, and blood poured from it. Despite
Magus' pain, he stabbed the enemy with the spear. The
ant's
head had been jabbed through. Magus quickly pulled it
back and fell over. "Ooh! Magus!" Kai yelled. The bite
was
big and it covered almost all of his chest. Kai
quickly pulled out Magus' healing water. The wound was
so great she
had to pour the whole canteen on it. Aknar and
Maverock looked. Magus was breathing heavily, but
thanks to the
water his wound closed up. He sat up and smiled at
Kai. "Thank you" he said to her. He stood again.
"Aknar, be
leader again" Aknar stood in front of
Magus. They all walked through the large dungeon.
They were walking through the dungeon when Kai
yelled: "Stop! I cannot take this anymore. Let's sit."
They all
agreed. They sat down. "What's a Crescent, is what I
want to know," Aknar said. "Me too," Magus replied.
Aknar
sat next to his father, who sat next to Kai,
who sat next to Magus. "Magus?" Kai asked. "Yes?"
"Are you
alright?"
"Yes."
"That's good. We may be out here for a
long time. I hope nothing bad happens to us"
"Yes.. me
too"
Aknar looked at his father. "You said you have
something to tell us?" Maverock replied: "Yes, but not
'til later. I
don't want to distract you from battle." Aknar
reached into the pack. "Food," He mumbled. Aknar gave
the apples to
the three of them, and took one for himself. They now
had four. Aknar took out the loaf of bread and gave a
piece to
everyone. "Eat, people," He said as he
took a bite out of the apple. They sat and ate.
They stood up and got ready. "Aknar, I have a feeling
we'll be out of here soon," Magus said to Aknar. They
began
walking through the
dungeon again.
Finally, they came to a monster, the monster was a
large version of a demon frog. "That's odd looking,"
Akar said.
Aknar looked at the frog and ran after it. He
slashed it, making a small cut on it's back. Aknar
looked at the Frog
ready to strike. The frog lept at him, and he moved
to tge side quickly. Magus backed up and slashed his
spear at it,
slicing it's head. Aknar came at it from the back
and dove his large dagger into it's back. It bit and
Magus again. It
was still alive, but greatly injured. He moved
again, and he slashed it's head with the spear. The
spear went all the
way through. It fell to the
ground, and died without a noise.
Finally the came to a door. The door was
constructed completely out of blue quartz. They all
stood in front of it.
"What's with all the expensive doors?" Magus
remarked. Aknar smiled. He thought the Diamond Discus
might be
inside. Aknar walked to the door and pulled as hard
as he could. It slowly opened. The all stood and
looked in, and
what they saw was a large room, completely
constructed out of blue quartz. There were six
pillars. Three to the left,
three to the right. On the wall in the back, there
was Latin writing engraved in the wall. It read
"Lunatus ex ventus,"
And under it was a rectangular hole which was carved
in the wall. It looked as if it could fit a body.
Aknar and Magus
walked in first. They stood and looked in amazement.
Then Maverock and Kai walked in. Maverock looked a the
engravement on the wall. "Crescent of Wind"
He said. "Another Crescent..." Aknar mumbled.
Aknar slowly approached the wall. He looked up at the
engravement. He looked into the small port-like
square. He
walked into it and was immediately shot out. The
stranger part about this was that he never hit the
ground he was
floating, about three inches from the ground. He
looked down in disbelief at his feet. He moved one
around a little in
the air. He was literally walking on air. It felt
very light and he was not using muscles. It was
refreshing for him to be
resting. He turned and looked at the others.
"W-what's this?" Kai asked. Magus looked at him and
said "I'm going
to try." Magus walked slowly to the wall and walked
in. He shot out like him, and was standing next to
Aknar floating
inches off the ground. Kai did the same and then she
was floating by Magus. Then Maverock did the same, and
he
was by Kai. Kai turned to Magus: "How long do you
think this will last?" She asked him. "I'm not sure,"
He said.
"Well, let's leave. It seems like this isn't where
the Diamond Discus is," Aknar suggested. They all
"Walked" out of
the room.
They were almost back to the three way area of the
dungeon, when suddenly Aknar dropped. He looked at the
others
as the fell out of the air one by one. "Well, I guess
we'll have to walk again," Aknar said, disappointed.
They walked.
They finally came to the three way tunnel. Aknar
looked at the others. "One way left..." he said. "That
was odd...
Floating?" Kai mumbled softly. Aknar led the way
through the last path. Magus followed him, Kai
followed him, and
Maverock
followed her.
They were walking through the path, but were once
again stopped by a monster. It was another Red Ant. It
was about
3 feet tall. Aknar readied his weapon. He ran after
it and sliced at it. The gave a small blow to it's
head. The ant bit at
him, but he backed up quickly, he then jumped back,
and plunged the dagger through the middle of it's
head. It fell to
the ground and died. "You're getting good," Magus
told Aknar. "I guess I am" Aknar replied. They
continued.
They came to three more ways. "Which way should we
go?" Aknar asked, looking down the middle one.
"Middle."
Magus replied. "I agree" Kai said. "Me too"
Maverock agreed. They all walked down the middle.
Finally they saw it! Kai looked at it and said
"It's beautiful!" Her eyes sparkled. She was happy
they could finally
leave. She ran out of formation, and towards the
Discus. Right when she was close tothe Discus, four
spears shot out
of the wall, nearly hitting her. She turned around
and gasped. "Oh, no! How am I gonna get out!?" She
exclaimed.
She was scared. Magus looked at her. He was worried,
as was Aknar, and Maverock. "There had to be something
to
set off this trap!" Maverock said. He looked at the
floor under it "Aha! There is a place on the floor
which sets this
off. If you push it in it will go off," Maverock
noticed. The jade there was about an inch over the
rest of the ground.
"So if you jump over it, you can make it, without
being killed" Aknar explained. "I was getting to
that," Maverock
noted, as he looked at Aknar. "W-well o-okay..."
Kai stuttered, scared. She took the diamond discus,
and slid it
across the ground as hard as she could. The spears
came out, and the Diamond Discus stopped in front of
Aknar. He
bent down and picked it up. Kai lept over the mark
and landed an inch in front of Magus. He looked at
her. She
smiled at him, and hugged him. They began
walking again. They returned to the Castle.
Chapter 6: Continuing The Search
They all stood in front of the King.
"Congratulations! You are all great warriors. I Will
give you your rewards, but
first would you like to join my army?" Aknar looked
at him.He said "No. Sorry, we have a search. A Search
for an
evil man named Dorgan. Do
you know who he is?"
"Yes. He is a major threat to our town. He
destroyed many towns before, and he might come after ours.
