Since I've been writing anime fanfiction for about a year, and only
started posting to this list over the summer, I've got a considerable
backlog of stories, mostly incomplete, that I'd like to send to the
list. Of course, I don't want to flood the list with hundreds of stories
at once (hence the single chapter of Choice every two days so far), nor
do I want to send stories that no one will be interested in, at least
until I've established my name on people's "I want to read stories by
this author" lists. (Some people have those, right?) Hence this small
list of the stories I've written/am writing so far. I'd just like some
private responses, hopefully telling me what you thought of A Deadly
Choice, as well as which of the rest of these stories you'd most like to
see. Depending on these responses, I might try to work harder on certain
stories or send the most requested stories first...
[Pokemon]
Yes, I got my start in Pokemon fanfic, but don't worry... it's not at
all tame or childish.
Jellic's Hateful Quest
Current length: 25 of 26 chapters complete
I'll probably send this one next, simply because it's the longest one
I've got so far, and will hopefully be complete by the time I finish
sending the first 25 chapters.
Plot: An epic fantasy hero (the swords-and-sorcery type) is sent into
the Pokemon world, where instead of fighting his own battles, he must
depend on creatures that have been described by many a fangirl (and a
few fanboys too) as "cute." Of course, there's no shortage of evil in
the Pokemon universe... Can Jellic overcome his belief that Pokemon are
the evil beings of the Pokeworld and become a strong enough Pokemon
trainer to defeat the true evil?
The Portal
Current Length: 10 chapters, length undetermined (but much longer than
it is now)
Plot: At the Pokemon League competition, Ash lost to Gary in the final
round. After ten years of training, but never gathering the nerve to
challenge his rival to a rematch, Ash stumbles across (and through) a
portal to a world of magic, where his ability to "summon" Pokemon as
familiars is highly coveted by a very powerful sorceress. Now Ash,
Misty, Brock, and Gary must travel between the two worlds to resolve the
crisis that threatens to destroy all life in the magic universe and
escape with their lives. This is a very dark story (or will be, when I
get around to the dark parts).
POKENET
Current Length: Complete, 5 parts
Plot: A Pokemon/Dragnet crossover featuring Ash and Brock as the
bumbling detectives, Misty as the victim of a Togepi-napping, and
Officer Jenny as the poor smart cop who has to try to sort all of this
out. A comedy that has its silly moments, but has managed to make even
the most stoic reader laugh out loud.
POKENET: The Armenhammer Armageddon
Current Length: 4 parts (will probably have about 6 when finished)
Plot: My response to the many requests for a sequel to Pokenet! Ash and
Brock have unwittingly (due to their total lack of wit) allowed World
War III to erupt between Indigo Island and the neighboring nation of
Armenhammer, when Archduke Baking Soda is assassinated before he can
reach his hotel room!
ASH: Serves him right. He should have found a hotel room that was closer
to the airport.
Now, with the help of Officer Jenny, Misty, and a host of gratuitous
crossovers, Ash and Brock must bring the assassin to justice before
Indigo Island is blown off the face of the Earth!
[Ranma 1/2]
The Contract
Current Length: 3 chapters
Plot: This story takes place after the events of "A Deadly Choice." A
mysterious merchant is selling marriage contracts for food, and all of
Ranma's fiancees want to get their hands on them! Unfortunately, Shampoo
and Razor have signed one of the contracts, and every attempt to rectify
the situation just makes things worse! The contracts, signed in blood,
have magical properties that will force the arranged marriages to take
place under any circumstances... but when the paired-up cast members
refuse, they find themselves fighting for their lives... and their
souls.
The Martial Klutz
Current Length: 1 chapter
An idea that sprang up while I was trying to decide what would make an
interesting, dynamic new character. Meet Jessie Ornell, the American
exchange student at Furinkan High who can barely stand on his own two
(left) feet... but has the reflexes of a judo expert when he's attacked.
When Jessie discovers that he can't be beaten by any opponent, in a city
where martial arts skill is the ultimate deciding factor in any dispute,
will the power go to his head?
Happo 1/2: The Perverted Curse
Current Length: 2 chapters (Chapter 2 will be released soon, once I've
seen enough of the fourth season to accurately portray Principal Kuno)
Plot: My first alternate universe fanfic. Twenty years ago, Happosai
took Genma and Soun to Jusenkyo to train, hoping to turn them into women
at Nyannichuan. However, they managed to turn the tables on him and toss
him into one of the springs... an uncursed spring, as it were, where he
drowned. Fifteen years later, Ranma fell into that spring while training
with his father, and received the curse of Seguinichaun, Spring of the
Drowned Pervert. When splashed with cold water, his appearance remains
the same, but he can't keep his hands off of women!
Naturally, most of the Jusenkyo curses in the story have been changed
around. Genma fell into the Spring of Drowned Tiger, Ryoga into the same
spring that Pantyhose once fell into, it's Shampoo who turns into P-kun
the pig, and so on. I'm exploring how these changes to the story affect
the characters, mostly their relations with each other, and trying to
prove to those who would argue with me that Ranma's Nyannichuan curse is
not as indispensable as they think...
Ryoga Quest
Current Length: One very long part (complete)
Plot: An idea sparked by John Walter Biles' Shampoo Quest. (Thanks
John!) The idea of a Zork-style game starring the Ranma characters
intrigued me, and I loved the original story, but I couldn't help
thinking about how the game would be affected by featuring a character
who couldn't handle simple commands as well as Shampoo could. My first
impulse was to choose Mousse:
LOOK AROUND
You can't see much of anything.
INVENTORY
You are carrying:
An indistinguishable object
An indistinguishable object
A sharp object
A blunt object
A heavy object
...but the above two commands comprised the entire idea, and he's too
close to Shampoo for any real divergence from the original. Enter the
Eternal Lost Boy with his singular sense of direction, and a whole new
world of possibilities opens up!
[Ranma 1/2/Tenchi Muyo]
Tenchi 1/2: Dimensions in Peril
Current Length: 5 chapters
Plot: A demon sends the residents of the Masaki household into the Ranma
universe, where they briefly pair up with Ranma characters (with often
humorous results) before finally finding each other. However, the demon
has followed them, and is still hunting not only Tenchi characters, but
Ranma characters as well! The two groups must band together in order to
defeat the demon and return everyone to their own worlds... or at least,
as many as can get to their own worlds. For it appears that in order to
defeat the demon, Tenchi and Ranma must be in the same universe at the
time that the bridge between dimensions closes forever...
All of these stories (as well as a few spamfics that I didn't bother to
list) can be found on my webpage (the URL is below).
Thanks for all of your kind reponses and C&C, and I look forward to
exhibiting more of my work here in the future!
