Ah yes... Soujiro the psycho kid. Makes me wonder really... here in your story, what exactly prompted Soujiro to go to the point of killing his whole household?
Another thing... Soujiro's mask of happiness going with the pain inside him? Is this to the point of insanity, or utter masochism? Or is he not feeling any pain anymore?
Soujiro is one the the more interesting characters in Kenshin... though I am not quite sure if he was given much of a backstory, due to the nature of the dubs I watch. Still, interesting take on the thing about Soujiro. You really love this intorverse character development stuff. ^_^
