*sigh*
Well, a lot of people lately have been writing me asking 'when is the next
chapter of (such and such) coming up? Why haven't you written anything in
a while- is everything okay? Hey, you haven't written anything in a few
months- are you ALIVE over there?' and the like. I'm getting tired of
answering all of these e-mails individually, so I figured I'd publically
post something and hope that it'll slow the number of inquiries for a
while.
Basically, I haven't written anything this month. And I won't be writing
anything in the next few weeks, either. Why? Well, a huge number of real
life difficulties (most of the good kind, but still difficulties
none-the-less) have been plaguing me. It started way back in May,
actually, and lead to me not being able to even read my e-mail for almost
the whole month of June. I WAS able to surface in time for a brief
anime-related thing at the end of June- DaveCon (a party\mini-con some
friends and I hold every year. We're hoping to make it a real convention
when we can find the financial backing for it). I got a slight respite in
the end of July, and worked a LITTLE bit on Three Souls, One Heart, but...
well, I didn't finish a complete chapter, and I don't like to release
unfinished chapters. I went to Otakon, but... since then, I've been busy
again, and haven't been able to work on ANY of my fanfics. When I HAVE
have a moment to myself, I've been working on the reaction I recieved to
DaveCon: The televisions weren't big enough (I partially solved this by
purchasing a used video projector in an eBay auction- a smallish one, but
the best I could afford given my current financial standings, and a
projector is a projector. Since new projectors cost between $3000-$20,000,
and the one I got was only $500, I don't think I got too bad a deal) and
some programming complaints (I'm still working on this one). This relates
to fanfics not at all, I know, but that's basically what I'm saying: I
don't have time, and what time I have for anime isn't directed to fanfics.
I still read them (I can print them out and take them with me, after all),
but I don't have time to write them right now.
That said... I have yet to completely abandon ANY of my fics, and I DO have
a few fics where, if I had a couple good hours to work on them, I could get
a new chapter finished. I'm almost done with the next parts of Three
Souls, One Heart, Patlabor: Personal Files, Patlabor: On the Run, and
Kenshin: Guide in the Wilderness. So I MAY get something out unexpectedly
in the next few weeks- and if so, it'll be one of those- but I don't expect
to. I COULD concievable continue with the Return of the Sisters
re-release\revision in this period, but I'm not really too enthusiastic
about working on that unless I can devote more attention to it than I'm
likely to be able to.
So, when will I get new stuff out? Who knows. I certainly don't.
