This was just a twisted idea that came to me after too many hours of
playing Starcraft and drinking JOLT through an IV. Don't kill me.
No, I'm serious, DON'T KILL ME!
Oh, *I* won't. I'll just inform the enraged mobs that the following is
your fault. ^_^

Moon raised her arm to block, marvelling again as the blue not-flame
washed over her body, dissipating the Zergling's latest attack. It
dodged her tiara when she flung it, but coming back, it neatly bisected
her enemy, inducing the familiar explosion of guts. At least Zerg blood
did not stain.
"Well done, Sailor Moon!"
She transformed back into Usagi as soon as she relaxed her
concentration, as if the power wanted to rest and recharge on its own.
"Hey, Luna? You said I'm a reincarnation of some ancient senshi. What
happened to her?"
"Do you know the legend of the Xel'Naga?"
"Yes. They just taught it in history last week."
"It's no legend. About a thousand years ago, a group of them were
patrolling this cluster of solar systems, trying to find a new home for
some refugees of the Zerg attacks. They travelled in a spaceship they
built out of a moon, so they called themselves the Moon Kingdom.
Unfortunately, the Zerg found them here, and attacked. It was a fierce
battle, but in the end the Moon Kingdom was simply overwhelmed. The
Xel'Naga Queen sacrificed herself to save the spirits of everyone else,
hoping that they would find suitable hosts if and when non-Zerg
sentients came to this system. Sadly, most of those spirits decayed
over time, but some of the warriors are still together."
"How do you know this?"
"Two Xel'Naga survived by ejecting and hiding, then going into statis.
Our pods were keyed to the same life form detection as the spirits of
the others - in fact, our sensors formed the main part of their
detection grid. Our pods took many years to confirm that humanity was
what we sought, so we've only recently come out of stasis, and the few
remaining spirits only started finding hosts after that."
"So...you're one of the Xel'Naga? You don't look like a god."
"Well...that is...we weren't *quite* Xel'Naga, just the Queen's pets."

"The Soldier of Destruction?"
Haruka nodded. "Yes. One of us for each planet, it seems. And given
what's happened, she chose an appropriate one."
Chibi-Usa stared, disbelieving. Hotaru was Sailor Tarsonis?

"Sir, how can you POSSIBLY expect the Galaxy Police to function in the
middle of a war zone?!?"
Mihoshi's grandfather smiled at Kiyone from the video projection. "You
won't be pursuing normal duties. Your jurisdiction extends only to the
citizens of Jurai and its allies. That means you and Mihoshi are to
protect yourselves, Ayeka, Sasami, Washu, Ryoko, and anyone else who
visits human space." He did not say, but Kiyone clearly heard, "...in
that order."
Kiyone sighed. "Yes, sir."
"I thought you'd be thrilled. You wanted Special Ops, and this is it."
He leaned in close to the projector unit, whispering conspiratorially.
"And if Mihoshi is as smitten with this human...'Tenchi'...as you say,
then rescuing the Juraian princesses may fall squarely on your
shoulders. That's bound to get Jurai to press for a promotion or two
for you."
"Yes, sir...but do we *really* have to protect the Protoss, too?"
He rested a finger on his chin, looking away for a moment. "Hmm...we
*do* have a treaty obligation with them, but in a pinch, I'd say no.
You have your priorities. Given the interests of your charges, even the
humans might technically rank above the Protoss if - or should I say,
*when* - they get into a fight. And the Zerg are, as always, eradicate
on sight...but don't let yourself get pulled into a battle if you can
avoid it. The Juraian Empire needs time to prepare itself before it
announces its presence. But don't worry, they fully intend to attack
before any of the three factions..."
"Four factions, sir."
"...four factions...*FOUR*?" He glanced aside, scanning her latest
report on the expedition from Terra. "I...see...umm, yes, *four*
factions can discover us. And at this rate, that'll have to be soon."
