The other two were rubbing sticks together, and just
when dusk was about to end they got the fire started,
and were
sitting, waiting for Aknar to find a fish. "The
pond must not have many fish," Kai said. "It seems
so..." Magus
replied. "How are you? Are you feeling good right
now... or are you homesick?" Magus asked Kai, as he
sat next to
her. "I'm okay... a little homesick, but this is
kinda fun, in an odd way..." "Oh... Okay... What do
you think about
Dorgan?" "I think he did it.. I think he is the same
man who burnt our village," "I agree" "I'm TIRED" Kai
said as
she put her head down on his shoulder. "Oh, well...
heh heh... Me too.." "Why do you seem so nervous?" "No
reason," They looked at Aknar, who had just stood up,
with a fish. "I guess her caught a fish," Kai said, as
she sat up
straight. "Hey, Aknar! Good job!" Kai
yelled out. He walked up to them "Let's eat!".

                                     After eating,
they all slept.

They woke up around dawn the next morning, the sky
was dotted with a few clouds, but mostly blue. Aknar
was the
first to awake. "Kai, Magus wake up!" He yelled, and
they both nearly at the same time opened their eyes.
"Yeah,
yeah okay..." Magus said as he slowly sat up and
stretched. "You know, you're very harsh. We could
sleep longer,
you know..." Kai complained. "We could also be killed
by monsters in our sleep," Aknar added. "We only have
one
piece of fruit left, and I suggest we save it for
some other time, when we're in need," Magus said. They
all began
                                        their journey
again

                                        Chapter 5: A
Castle.
It was early afternoon when they were met up by a few
hawks. They were very large, and seemed evil. The part
that
made them seem evil was the fact that they were
swooping at Aknar, Magus, and Kai, trying to make
holes in them.

The Trio were standing in a row. One hawk dove at
Aknar. Aknar moved and disabled the hawks wing. It
fell to the
ground, and Aknar quickly finished it off. At the same
time, Kai was being dove at by one hawk, and so was
Magus by
the third. Magus quickly stabbed, without aiming, and
got a good shot to the head, which killed it. Magus
looked at
the other one which was coming straight for Kai.
Magus jumped after it, and sliced it's head off. The
last hawk fell to
                                        the ground and
died.

"THANK YOU!" Kai exclaimed, and jumped onto Magus
hugging him. "It's no problem," He replied. "Okay,
let's
go!" Aknar said, and they began walking
again, walking in order, from Kai, to Aknar.

Again, they were attacked! A praying mantis, which
was about 3 feet tall was in front of them. It was
looking at them
and getting ready, and the three were also ready to
fight it. It approached them, and slashed at both
Magus, and
Aknar, in a single swing. They both quickly jumped
back, and dodged the slashed. If they would have been
hit, it
probably would have been a serious wound. It slashed
again, quickly with his other one. Kai jumped back,
and the
slash just barely hit her. There was a small gash in
her leg, because she was dodging. But it hurt, and she
fell. Magus
quickly lept in font of Kai, who was sitting down
holding her leg. Kai looked at him, and the Praying
mantis slashed
him again but he jumped over it, and stabbed it's
claw. The mantis backed up a little, and Aknar ran
after it and
attempted to stab it's head, but he had his claws
up, and the dagger hit it instead. It still hit the
mantis a little but
barely did damage. He quickly attempted a slash. He
hit nothing but air. Aknar jumped back, and tried to
stand it,
and hit it's side barely. It made a small cut in the
mantis' side, and it slashes at Aknar once with each
claw. Aknar
jumped back again, making the Mantis' attack useless.
Aknar then threw his dagger. It hit the Mantis dead
on. The
mantis had the dagger stuck in it's head, and it
fell over and died. Aknar ran over to Kai, and Magus.
Magus and
Aknar helped up Kai and she stood there, with some
blood slowly trickling down her shin. "Owww, it
hurts!" She
                                            exclaimed.

She was sitting down, and Aknar and Magus sopped up
some blood with a leaf. "It's okay, you'll be fine..."
Magus
mumbled. "I know I will, but it hurts," She looked
back about 100 feet and saw the dead body of the
Mantis. "Stupid
thing!" She yelled. "I hate fighting... It hurts too
much!" She exclaimed annoyed. "I know, I know, but we
have to do
it," Aknar told her. "Can I stay out of the next
battle?" Kai asked. "Well, of course... You have to,
you can't fight
with a hurt leg," Magus said to her. "Just one battle
though" Aknar said. They were sitting by her resting.
They had
                        to rest after that fight...
They rested for about 20 minutes.

                              They began walking
again. They also spoke

"I hate fighting, so, so, much.. This journey is
hard" Kai moaned... "But if we defeat this man, it
will feel good, you
have to admit," Aknar said "I know but... Why do we
have to walk so much?" Kai asked. "Because we don't
have
                                   any horses," Magus
explained.

They walked more and more through the field. It was
warm out, and the clouds had barely moved. The air was
still.

It was late afternoon when they saw it! It was a very
very large figure in the distance, and upon further
inspection, it
was a castle. They decided to
enter the town, so they did.

"We need to buy some food... we should go to that
place," Aknar suggested. They all walked into the
store, and
noticed all the fruits, and the vegetables around
them. The loaf of bread was on a piece of wood which
had "Two for a
Gold Coin" Marked on it. Aknar bought one of those,
and 8 apples. It came to a total of 3 Gold Coins, and
they were
                                       left with 27
Gold coins.

On their way out they saw
something. It was a sign. It read:

                    Help needed for a task:
Reward. Gold Coins, and an Item
Anyone can attempt the risk, please
                come to castle. -King Helnis

"We should go see him!" Kai exclaimed, excitedly.
"Yes, but we don't know what the task is... it could
be impossible
for us," Aknar said "There's no point in not asking,"
Magus said. "Okay, let's go!" Aknar agreed. "But let's
first go
to the weapons store," He added.
They went to the weapon store.

They looked around. "Kai, you first," Aknar said. "I
like my Dirk.. I think I'll just sharpen it," That
would cost three
Gold Coins. "Magus?" Aknar asked. "Well, a short
sword is 15, and that's too much. I think I'll have a
spear. That's
10" He replied "I'll buy a larger dagger for 7 GP"
The cost all together, including weapon trade-in was
16 Gold
                              Coins. They all took
their weapons and left.

Now they had 11 Gold Coins and were on their way to
the castle. They stopped at the guards. "What do you
peasents
want?" The guard asked. "We are here to see the
king," Aknar replied. "What would the King want with a
few
peasents," "We're here about the job," Magus told
them. "Go right in!!!" He yelled, and they walked in.
On their
way in he could hear them laughing and making jokes
about them being peasents. It all seemed rather silly,
because
they were not peasents, they were adventurers.
They were not from that village. So they entered.

Walking down the halls surely gave them a glance
at royalty. The red carpet which was down the center
of the
hallways was truly maginificant, and the walls and
ceilings were made of marbel. There were pillars a few
pillars as
they walked by. Since the town was rather big,
especially compared to the last one, and even more so,
compared to
their little hamlet, he must have collected alot of
money. They were escorted by a foot soldier, and they
stood in front
                                           of the
King.

"We are here for the job, your majesty," Aknar said.
"Oh, good," He replied. The King was dressed as a King
of
course, and he seemed like he used to be a Knight.
"Do you wish to explain the task to us, Sire?" Kai
asked. "Oh,
yes, yes. You are to go to the underground cave in
the west, and fetch me the Diamond Discus. The reward
for the
discus is great. I will give 100 Gold coins, and a
treasure, like it said on the note. If you cannot find
the Diamond
disk, and you give up so easily. I will reward you
with 5 Gold coins. This is a very deadly place, and I
wish you luck,
and you should surely be careful. You might not make
it back alive. I have sent a soldier down before. He
was well
trained. Sadly he has not returned. He is dead," The
King finished the explanation, and then said "You may
stay here
for the rest of the day, and for the night. You need
to be well rested, and be prepared for this journey.
It will be very
tiring, and you may stay if you complete my task,"
"Thank you, thank you very much" Kai said to the King.

They were then escorted to their rooms. They all sat
on a bed and took their shoes off. "Oh these beds are
so huge!"
Kai exclaimed, as she lie on the bed on her back. The
man who was escorting them then said "We will be here
with
                                your meal around
dinner. For now rest,"

It had been a few minutes. "Supposably this place is
very dangerous," Aknar said as he put the dagger down
on the
ground, "But" He continued "I think we can do this, I
know we can. It's three people now. Before that was
one man,
he had no help, and that is what probably led him to
his death," "I am still scared," Kai said, looking
down on her
dirk which was on her dresser, which was next to
her. "It's okay, we'll get through this," Magus
assured her.

Their food was well-made chicken, and
bread. They also had some vegetables, and fruit.

Night was comfortable, and they all quickly fell
asleep on the beds they had. They slept through the
night, no
problem. They were awoken in the morning by the
guard who said. "You have until noon to get ready for
this. The
king is counting on you. The discus is very
condensed, and durable. It will make many weapons, and
save many
lives," He explained, and walked out.

They ate an apple each in the morning. They had
7 apples left, they were getting ready for the fights.

They left at noon as the man said. They were walking
down the hallways. "I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm
scared, I'm
scared, I'm scared," Kai kept repeating. "Do not
worry..." Magus told her, again. "We need this money
so that we
can buy more weapons, and we can
travel easier on our journey,"
