BACKGROUND

Part1:
Rei and Shinji have sex. After Rei and Shinji have sex, Rei says she
just wants to be friends (isn't that the guys line?!?!). Asuka gets
suspicious and watches them (not voyeurism!), she figures it out and
confronts Rei. Rei tells her and tells her to go for Shinji. Misato
pulls an all nighter, Asuka gets her mack on. They go at it like
rabbits. Could this be love?

Part2:
A series of tests grant Asuka and Shinji the realization that they are
in love. Of course, in keep with their personalities, they don't tell
each other right away (only that they care for each other). After they
do tell each other... they go at it like rabbits. Yes! It's love.
Part3:
Misato get suspicious. She finds out and confronts them about it. They
try to lie their way out of it and play down the seriousness of their
relationship, but Misato decides to watch them (not like that).
Part4:
Asuka tells Shinji about her traumatic past, while Misato is eaten up by
jealousy. She feels un-involved in the family anymore. She also wants
to join in the fun. (I may or may not go for that. -_^) Misato comes
clean about knowing about them and Asuka says that both her and Shinji
love like a sister (in Arkansas [JOKE]). Asuka promises that Shinji and
her won't try and hide their relationship from Misato anymore.
Part5:
Angel attack and the children are called into action, Hikari messes
with Touji's head (not that one!). Shinji gets fucked up bad by the
angel! Asuka stays by Shinji all the time he's in the hospital. Shinji
decides to make it up to her (heh heh heh).
Part6:
Misato won't let Asuka comfort Shinji because Misato knows that Asuka is
the reason he's crying. Asuka finally talks to Shinji and finds out that
the reason he was crying is that he doesn't want to hurt Asuka or Misato
by dying. Hikari and Touji fuck (I've figured out who I'm going to hook
Kensuke up with. ^_^).

Part7:
Asuka and Shinji get physicals. Gendo finds out about Shinji and Asuka
from Ritsuko. Ritsuko tells Misato about Gendo's knowledge of Shinji and
Asuka's relationship.
Part8:
Asuka and Hikari take Rei on a shopping spree. Misato finds out from
Ritsuko that the new angels aren't really angels. Shinji confronts
Gendo. Gendo says he doesn't care, although he gives Shinji a criptic
warning. The Second US Branch dissapears.
Part9:
A new student, Kirishima Mana comes to school from the United States.
Gendo commands Rei to help keep Shinji and Asuka's relationship together. Unit-03 arrives at Matishiro for the activation test with Touji as pilot.

The entire control room shook from violently the Eva's sudden motion.
"Status report!" shouted Misato, leaping from the floor, where she had fallen.
"All systems are green!" shouted the technician at the control panel.
Jabbing at the comm button, Misato yelled into the microphone, "Suzehara-kun! Are you all right?!"
<Y-yeah...> came the stuttered reply.
Ritsuko rappidly entered a command into the keyboard in front of her. "There was some minor rejection in theA-10 nerve cluster. All systems are go. Synchronization steady at nineteen percent."
Another sigh of relief resounded through the command center.
"I guess all activations can't go as smoothly as Shinji and Asuka's did."
A small chickle came from all in the control roo,. While Rei took six months to synchronize with Unit-00, Asuka only took three hours with a maximum synch ratio of thirty-two percent. Shinji's synchronization was practically instantaneous.
"Are you feeling better?" asked Misato, once more talking into the comm.
<Yeah, it sorta felt like someone was shovin' a spike into my head. I's gone now.>
Ritsuko paused, scribbling something on a manilla folder, to speak into the comm. "How do your senses feel?"
<MY left leg is kinda tingly and the right one is numb.?
"That's normal at first, " Ritsuko scrubbled something in her folder, "just try to keep your mind clear."
--3 hours later
If Touji thought sitting in an entry-plug was bad, he shouldhave tried sitting in an entry-plug for three hours. Unfortunately, that was exactly hoe long he had been forced to sit in Unit-03's entry-plug.
His lega were either falling asleep or there was more nerve static from his poor snchronization ratio. His chest felt slightly compressed from the extra weight of the LCL. The plug-suit was squeezung him in -all- the wrong places. He was getting sleepy from sitting still in a warm enviroment, unable to think of anything, but he was -jus- uncomfortable enough to keep from 0ever0 falling asleep. He was -bored out of his mind- and had run out of even stray ideas to pass the time with, which, on a positive not, was great for his synch rate.
<Okay, Suzehara-kun.> Ritsuko's image manifested on the view-screen to the left. <We're draining the plug now. You'll be out in a few seconds.>

Touji scrubbed violently at his hair, trying to get the noxious smell of LCL out of it. The stuff was annoyingly impossible to get out. Now his hair smeller like LCL -and- the soap in the showers, which was terrible in its own rights.
'I'm gonna have to ask Shinji how he gets this smell off.'

Asuka, Shinji, and Hikari walked down the nearly deserted street in Tokyo-3. Hikari walked on Asuka's left,while Shinji walked on Asuka's right. Silence permeated the scene, save for the ever-present hissing of cicadas and the ruslting of debris in the wind.
Hikari was worried about why Touji was not at school today. Shinji wa also worried about Touji, knowing full well the danger of activating an Eva. Asuk was not thinking of Touji. Her thoughts were centered on her womb.
The sound of foot-steps coming closer grabbed the attention of the children, their heads turning towards the clapping of rubber on pavement. Touji padded quickly up to the group, chest heaving from the exertion.
Touji slipped his arm around Hikari's waist with practiced ease, giving her a light peck of the lips. Hikari wrapped her arms around Touji, pulling her body firmly against his.
"I was worried about you." Hikari wispered into Touji's ear.
"Hey, you ain't got ta worry 'bout me. I ain't goin' no where."
"Touji, you smell like LCL and that soap they put in the pilot's locker room."
"Yeah, can't figure out how ta get this shit offa me."
"Didn't you use the body-wash, dumkopf?" Asuka didn't feel the need to look at Touji and simply turned her nose up at him.
"I ain't no fuckin' girl! I don't use no fuckin' body wash!"
"Idiot! The body wash has enzymes in it that neutralize the LCL!"
"Really? Damn!"
Asuka felt very proud of herself.
Touji voiced a thought, "So, where are we going?"
"-WE- were going to meet Rei and go to a Karioke lounge. I -suppose- you could come along."
"Is Kensuke coming?"
Shinji shook his head. "No, he said he had somewhere else to be."
"Eh, too bad."

Kensuke and Mana walked down the street hand-in-hand, arm-in-arm. Mana stared at their interwoven hands as the walked, trusting the navigation to Kensuke. It may have been a mistake, it may not last, it was possibly the worst choice she had ever made in her short life (though she really didn't have a choice in the matter), but she couldn't help it. She was falling for Kensuke.

Ayanami Rei waited patiently for Shinji, Asuka, and Hikari to arrive. She had onlyagreed to accompany them on this outing to keep an eye on Shinji and Asuka, though Gendo had said it might be a pleasurable experience for her too.
Rei noticed the group of teens coming towards her. She easily recognized Shinji, Asuka, and Hikari. Rei was slightly surprised to see Suzehara alive. He should have been either dead or severely injured, if she understood the prophecies of the Secret Dead Sea Scrolls --that Gendo had explained to her-- correctly. Of course, there had been no emergency sirens.
'It may be a result of The Convergence.' tought Rei.
Her knowledge of the Lost Scrolls were limited because of Gendo's dislike of discussing NERV off-duty. The fact that all of the scrolls hadn't been translatedyet meant she knew little to nothing of what was going on.
"Uh... hello Ayanami." Touji was slightly nervous about the way Rei was studying him.
Rei simply nodded to Touji and fell in step beside Shinji.

The desert sand crunched beneath his feet, as the flaming orb hovering over him burned brightly, sucking the moisture from the landcape.
Kaji looked out over the large crater, the only evidence of the devistating accident that consumed the entire US Second Branch.
The entire crater looked unnatural. There was no ridge to the crater, it simply ended. There were no patches of scorched earth. The crater was a perfect circle. The bowl of the crater formed a perfect porabola.
Kaji kneeled down at the edge of the crater. He let his fingers glide over the surface of the crater. It felt smooth, like polished glass, to his touch.
Looking down the curve of the basin, Kaji swept his gaze towards the center of the pit.
'That's where I'll find the answers, if there are any left.'

The evening had gond quite well for the children. They were enjoying themselves emensely. The highlight of the night had been when Touji had sung his rendition of Diana Ross. Needless to say, Hikari was embarrased.
Most of the group had already sung twice. Rei was the sole exception. She had yet to participate in the 'fun'. Asuka simply could not let this blasphemy continue.
"Come on, Rei! It's your turn to sing!"
Rei was more than reluctant to join in the 'fun'. "I would rather not."
Aparently Asuka had not heard Rei because she simply dragged Rei onto the stage. Asuka punched in a selection on the machine.
"Sing." was the only instruction Asuka gave Rei, as the intro to "Tamashii no Rufuran" began.
With a mental shrug, Rei began to sing.

A hush had fallen over the crowd. Rei was too entranced with the song to notice.

The children prowled the streets of Tokyo-3 in the pale dusk light.
If anyone who had seen these children interact two months ago saw them now, they would notice several major differences with their current behavior. Most obvious would be Hikari had her head resting on Touji's shoulder, with Touji's arm around Hikari's waist, followed closely by Asuka and Shinji holding hands.
While less obvious, though just as severely out of character as the other two instances, was Rei. If one was to look closely at the albino girl, they would see a rare spectacle. Rei was smiling her wounderfully beautiful, though small, smile.
The others simply stared at Rei. It was possibly because she was glowing, in the litteral sense.
