These are two fragments that have been running aroung in my head for
awhile, one or more may eventually work there way into a slayers fic or
two, but for now they are as is.

The Knight of Ceipheed entered Sairoon without fanfare, no
one noticed her coming, and no one would notice her leave, she
hoped. Had anyone laid eyes on Luna Inverse they would not have
guessed that she was a sorceress on the level with the great wise
men of the age, and that she was the older sister and teacher of the
legendary bandit killer Lina Inverse. They would have thought she
was a waitress late for work. Which in a way, she was.
Luna stopped at the first shop she came to after entering the
city and got directions to her destination.
The small, out of the way magic shop sat on the edge
between a good neighborhood and a bad one, or at least as bad as
you get in the city of Sairoon. It was nondescript two story building
with laundry lines running over the street and green paint on the
doors and windows. All-in-all, a nice little building.
The lower floor was a shop, although no sign hung out
front, only a small sign on the door.
Magical supplies and paraphernalia Luna read aloud. She
opened the door, which set a bell tinkling, and went inside.
At the sound of the bell Lina looked up from the magic
book she was reading. Welcome too...
Luna raised her hands and... FIREBALL
The orange globe of energy streaked towards Lina, who
showed no reaction, as the ball of energy streaked over the counter
it vanished. Luna blinked Huh? She raised her arms to cast the
spell again. but before she could open her mouth her first fireball
slammed into her from behind.
Luna, now extra crispy, picked herself up off the floor.
Lina smiled. What do you think of my security system?
Luna fumed. I got your letter.
I thought as much. So, why are you here? Why arent you
off saving the world? Or whatever it was.
YOU where supposed to do that. Im busy with my part
time job. And, I resent the fact that you forced me to take the time
to come here.
And I resent the fact that you feel you can just order me
around. Im not afraid of you anymore, big sister.
Lunas eyes narrowed. Why, you ungrateful little...
MOMMMY!!!
Lunas sentence was cut off as a small blonde haired child of
indeterminate gender ran down the steps crying. The child wrapped
its little arms around Linas leg. She hit me! The child wailed.
He deserved it! Another child, this one clearly a girl,
noted by the slightly torn dress, entered on the heels of the first
child. The girl was an odd looking thing, her skin was gray and had
what looked like stone scales at various places.
Lina leaned down to look at the girl eye to eye. Princess
Gracia, what would your mother say about fighting?
That the just will always triumph! The little Chimera
struck a pose.
Lina sighed, that was no help she thought. What about
your father?
Kick his ass.
Lina sighed again, should have quite while I was ahead.
What did he do to deserve getting hit?
He said that girls couldnt fight as well as boys.
Lina looked down at the boy. Roudy, is that true?
The boy nodded silently.
When your father gets home well talk about that, for now
you two go back upstairs and play nice. Lina sent her son off with
a pat on the head. The two children raced each other up the flight
of stairs.
Luna stood open mouthed after the children disappeared.
She turned back to Lina. Was that your...?
Lina nodded My son.
Lunas eyes widened. YOU had a kid? Didnt you once say
that youd sooner sell your soul to Shabranigdo then be some little
housewife?
Priorities change as we grow. Lina walked past Luna and
hung up the closed sign. Come on, Ill make some tea and we can
catch up.

Amelia.
Amelia Will Tesa De Serrioon looked up from the latest
issue of Shrine Maidens Life to see the huge form of her father.
Yes, Daddy?
Prince Phil sat down next to his daughter. Amelia Ive been
thinking, about your sister...
Amelias gaze did not waiver from her fathers face, her big
brown eyes pierced his soul.
Phil faltered somewhat. Amelia its been more than ten
years since Gracia disappeared, I think it is time we faced facts....
What facts?
What I mean is that your sister is almost certainly dead,
and as a member of the Royal family should be given a state
funeral.
Amelias eyes welled up with tears. NO, SHES NOT
DEAD! She cant be, shes just off somewhere, shell come back
soon.
Phils heart sunk, he never wanted to see his precious little
girl like this. Amelia, please try to understand, its not likely that
shell slam open the door walk in and say...
Whatever else Phil had to say was drowned out by the
slamming open of the front door. Through which stepped Naga The
serpent in all her inflatable glory.
Hi dad, hi Amelia. She brushed past them and up the
stairs towards her room. But then again...
