I assume this story was inspired from the Pokemon movie (correct me if it
is
not),

I agree. It needs closure. It needs expansion. Unfortunately, I can't do
it. I spent 2 weeks trying to figure out where to go from where I have, and
gave up.
However, it represent an aspect of
the Pokemon phenomenon that was never explored before (as far as I know).
I always wondered about that scene. I know I break down easily, but COME
ON, how could people have not been touched by that scene. I went through
like a half a box of tissues.
I
think it represent a great potential for future Pokemon fan-fics. Does
anyone has any ideas of how to develop further this aspect?? I wonder...

Of course, this assumes knowlesge of the scene, where Pikachu tried to "wake
up" Ash.
Seriously, the anime doesn't seem to look much into the mind of a Pokemon
(at least not as much as you are doing)

Gee, thanks. As far as I can tell, there was really only one Ep that did
this. I particularly liked Arbok's and Wheezing's bit in the episode in
question where they relate that the evil isn't in themselves, it's in their
masters. A & W are GOOD Pokemons. :)
