Just FYI, holograms can't exist without a lens or mirror or some other sort of
backdrop. They're nothing more than 3-D movies that don't require glasses. The
images LOOK like they're in front of the backdrop, but unless the observer is
actually looking at the backdrop, he/she won't see them. (Yes, I understand that
allowances need to be made for the sake of the story, but I'm tired of the
average person *not* understanding this. ^_^)

See above. Holograms aren't transluscent.

You might not recognise this reference, but its obviously the hologram from the american tv show time traxs, in which the character goes back in time to send criminals from the future back to the proper time...his partner is a supercomputer the size of a credit card that projects an free standing holographic image of a woman.

Makes me wonder why this wasn't placed under the tag of crossover, must have just been a small reference that isnt going to effect the story all that much.
