Great ending, although you were already on a better track than most other fics that begin this way were.  I was actually beginning to wonder where the spam was, and was wondering if some of your description was to be overdoing it as part of the spam.  The ending caught me offhanded, although in retrospect (always easy to say) I really should have expected that.
