It means Annoying New Character. As in, an author created character that
just happens to be the best sonuvabiych that ever walked the earth, has every
known martial art known to man, quite a few that aren't, can seduce any
female, most males, and a few forest animals, carries a golf bag full of
magical weapons (Including, but not limited to, the Tenchi-Ken, Stormbringer,
Excalubur and Tiger Wood's 6-Iron) and just to make it all perfect solves
everyone's problems. They are usually, but not always, author avatars (As
opposed to a straight Self Insertion, where all of the above applies but the
writer is shamelessly making him/herself the ANC).
In other words, an Author Created Character isn't the samne and an Annoying
New Charachter. Usually. But there is, sadly, a lot of overlap.

jokes, no wierd statements, no... wait. Does this qualify?
