Sketches of Tenchi 6: Tearful True Confessions
      A Tenchi Muyo! OAV/MnE fanfic

Ah! I'm rubbing my hands together briskly. :)

Good to hear it! :)

A sudden babble erupted from the doorway. A number of the
young ladies darted off, speaking rapidly into their jewelry.

It's amazing all the, ahem, places one can hide communications
devices...

With Juraian technology, why make single-purpose jewelry? :)

Yuzuha turned back glared at the three. "Now, what are you doing
  to protect my daughter?"

BTW, how is it that Yuzuha is still alive? Is this something
explained in one of the earlier chapters that I have since forgotten
or is it yet to be explained?

I don't think I have explained it, actually. I guess I'd better
say something in the next chapter. (It's just that I didn't think
it a big deal at the time; it was funny to have Yuzuha still alive,
so I did.) If she's a cosmic principle, the embodiment of the dark,
then I'd argue she can't die; that Tenchi cutting her in two at
the end of MnE had the same effect as the sword slashes on Jurai
at the beginning of that movie: temporary defeat.

Yuzuha looked very amused for a moment, but agreed.

Hmmm, this bodes ominous...

Just amusing, I think. Eyebeams that reduce one to a jewel,
in the eyes of a baby? One cared for by the likes of Aeka,
Ryouko, and Mihoshi?

"Since I was ordered to marry him, I will do it," replied Rei,
  tonelessly.

:) Rei needs a big shot of self-determination.

As always!

"I expect it to show up on JNN any minute now," added Misaki
with a grin. Behind the two queens, a large flat screen lit up
with a large grainy photo of Yuzuha, accompanied by smaller
pictures of Mayuka and Tenchi, and a headline in 40-point Juraian.
Handy hyperlinks to background on Tenchi showed on one side, with
a real-time count of his currently active fiancees. Other links
offered opportunities to place bets on the final number of wives,
or to vote in a poll for your favorite fiancee.

Hehehehe. A little stab at anime shrines, ne? ^_^

Oddly enough, I didn't realize that it could be read that way
until I'd finished that paragraph. I was just doing
extrapolate-the-future-of-the-supermarket-tabloid, with 'Survivor'
crossing my mind, and that resulted.

"Well, Misao, what _I_ do when I have a scary dream is go sleep
with Tenchi-niichan. He protects me and then I don't feel scared
  any more."

What, no comment on the _contents_ of Misao's dream? Heh.

"THAT'S HORRIBLE!" interrupted Asuka. "Boys and girls should
never sleep together at his age until they're married!"

:) She may not get along with Aeka and Ryouko too well, then.

I'm starting to become amazed at how well Asuka fits into this.
And all I have to do is quote, or paraphrase, what she actually says
in her own series.

  "HOW, exactly?" asked Asuka, suspicious.

  "By tickling her."

  "TICKLING her?" Asuka sounded dubious.

"You know, running his fingers over her chest and sides."

Rei took this moment to observe, "Mihoshi is from the planet
  Daikyou,

*sigh* Off to JEDS... Hmmm, all I get is "daikyousou", meaning
"megacompetition".

"Dai" is "big", of course, and "kyou" is the root of several
words relating to "chest".

is she not?" Addressed ostensibly to Sasami, Rei gave
Asuka a significant look as she said this.

"I think so," answered Sasami, hesitantly.

"WHAT? How are we supposed to compete with one of those balloon-
breasted women?" Asuka protested, then whined, "It's not fair!"

Hehehehe.

To quote from Washuu in chapter 4, they are "filled with a
pressurized, lighter-than-air gaseous solution". Given which,
the epithet is inevitable.

Underneath the pile-up, Kiyone found herself staring face-to-male-
member at a decapitated corpse. Orange, smoking blooddrops ate
holes in her uniform. A red bow tie, clearly labeled "Made by
Washuu", fell on to her nose. "Great. Poohbares instead. Very
  funny, Washuu."

-___- Poohbares?!?! Oh, my... Who's Christopher Robin? TENCHI?! :)

Heh. With Ryouko as Piglet, I suppose.

  - -
Back at the house, Ryouko sat cross-legged above the veranda,
entertaining some of the newcomers. "Yes, it's true! I shared my
first time ever with my most bitter rival!"

Heeeee!

Can you imagine what Aeka's reaction would be if she knew Ryouko
was doing this? Heh.

  - -
"And 'ol Aeka-hime was coming on to Tenchi like you wouldn't
believe!" Ryouko asserted, waving her sake bottle around at her
eager listeners. Several angled their necklaces or earrings for
  better reception.

LOL! This reflects the conflicting story-telling between the two
from the TV series well. :)

Not to mention the OAV Ryouko's creative stories (Tenchi is
Ryou-oh-ki's father!) from OAV 3.

"There I was," Ryouko announced, pausing to chug a large swallow
of sake, "trying to enjoy myself with the love of my life,
and the Princess just goes and conks out completely. And she
almost took me with her, too! Fortunately, as I was in complete
control of our merged bodies, Tenchi and I went on to enjoy a very
eventful night! Hours and hours, and very well tooled, too, if
you know what I mean!" Ryouko winked.

Uh-huh.

Well, what do you expect her to say? ;) She has an audience hanging
on her every word!

"You cannot belong to me alone, Tenchi-sama, I know that. I grew
up knowing that. But I want to feel, when you have chosen me
for a night, that at least you belong to me, and me alone,
for that night. I want to wake up next to you."

Tenchi suppressed the impulse to add "and Ryouko." Instead, he
just held her for a time.

O_o

Tenchi doesn't have to be motivated by lust to make _that_ comment,
given the situation which Aeka helped initiate.

"Greetings, ephemeral universelings. I am Tokimi, your fellow
wife-to-be. I have come to get to know you better."

Oh, gee. No pressure there. :)

Gee, I know _I'd_ feel real friendly towards someone who called me
'ephemeral'.  It might take Tokimi a while to understand the others;
one wonders how many more mistakes she might make in passing...

Look forward to the next.

Glad to hear it!
