In answer to all those people who tried to discourage me from writing
'Sailor Ranmoon' by saying it's been done before, and that I should try
something different. [Sorry, you got out voted.] Some of you may get it;
others might take a little while...

I know I'm writing too much, but the idea monster won't leave me alone
damn it!!

	[Fanfic, me want fanfic]

	Serpent Moon.

	Part one.

	A Sadistic Beginning.

Amelia jumped out of bed with a shocked look on her face. "Oh no! I'm
late!" She dashed down the stairs and rushed into the kitchen where her
older sister worked with a contented smile on her face. She was a young
girl of about fourteen years in age with short cut black hair.

"By sis! Bye Daddy!" she cried loudly as she blurred by the pair. Her
father was a large man with his face hidden behind a paper.

"Ha ha! By daughter!" cried the man as he turned his head from behind
the paper for a moment.

Amelia's elder sister blinked and put her hand up to her cheek. She was
a woman in her early twenties with long blonde hair. "Oh my! Father, I'm
afraid I need to go to the market! I forgot to buy beef yesterday for
dinner tonight!"

The man ruffled the pages of his newspaper and chuckled merrily. "That's
all right Gracia dear, I know it will be delicious! Ha ha ha!"

Gracia blushed and turned away from the sink where she had just finished
washing dishes. "Oh my, father is so loud sometimes..."

On the way to the market Gracia gasped in shock as a small creature
bounded out in front of her. "AH! It's a kitty!"

The poor creature was shaking horribly and had pair of bandages across
its forehead. It jumped into her arms and mewed pitifully.

Gracia's already soft heart melted. "Oh! How cute, don't worry kitty, I
won't let them hurt you anymore!" She blinked and realized she was
holding a purple cat in her arms. She looked closely and noticed that it
was purring contentedly in her arms and appeared to be smiling. It looked
at her with a piercing gaze and closed its eyes as she stroked its back.
"How odd."

"I'll just take that nasty bandage off," she removed the offending tape
and put the animal on the ground before continuing on her way. "Oh! A
little bald spot, how cute! It's shaped like a little crescent!"

The cat stopped purring and looked at her, even it's grin faded away.

The cat watched her walk away for a moment and then seemed to vanish
into thin air after letting out a small chuckle.

Amelia looked at her test score and sighed. "This stinks, my daddy is
gonna kill me!"

Molly blinked and looked over her shoulder. "A thirty? It's better than
your last score, but still. I don'' see how you could be afraid of your
dad."

"Trust me," grumbled the girl as she sank into her seat.

Molly smiled cheerfully at her. "Hey, my mom's having a big sale at her
jewelry store today! Do you want to go by and take a look?"

The shorthaired girl blinked and looked at her friend. "I guess..."

"Wow! You got a thirty!? That's too bad, I got a ninety five!" cried an
obnoxious looking boy with glasses nearby.

"Shut up Melvin," growled Amelia. The boy turned away very quickly.
"Fear not! I shall study hard and do my family proud!...on the next
test." The speech was a bit over dramatic, but made worse by the fact
that she stood on top of her desk and pointed her finger in the air.

"Did you hear! There was another jewelry store robbery last night!" said
a girl who sat nearby.

"Really! How scary!" agreed her friend.

"Those dirty thieves will get what's coming to them!" snapped Amelia.

"They already did! Sailor V nabbed the thieves!" cried Melvin.

"Sailor V?" said Amelia in confusion.

"She defends love and justice dressed in a sailor fuku. Some people say
she's an undercover cop!" offered the boy.

Amelia's eyes went wide and turned into giant hearts. "Cool!"

After school the girls gathered outside the store. Molly's mother stood
outside the doors with a bullhorn, coaxing customers inside.

"Wow, she's like a used care salesman!" commented one of the girls.

"A used car salesman?! Molly's mother is nothing like that! Used car
salesmen are dishonest!" countered Amelia a little over dramatically
again.

"Oh relax, but it is a little unusual for her," said Molly.

"Oh well, maybe my parents will buy me something since I did so well on
my test!" said one of their companions as she peered into the window.

Amelia frowned and looked at her page again. She sighed and crumpled it
up tossing it over her shoulder.

"Hey! Do I look like a trash can?" snapped an unfamiliar voice from
behind them.

Amelia turned around and frowned at the mysterious figure standing
behind them. He was covered in a long dark cloak and glaring at her, his
face hidden from view. He pulled his sunglasses down slightly and
snorted. "A thirty? You should study harder." With that said he whirled
around and left the scene.

"Who the heck was that?" said Molly.

"I dunno, but he was right. I should study harder, and littering isn't
right!" the girl picked up her paper and tossed it into a nearby
trashcan.

Amelia walked into her home a short time later and sighed. Her father
stood in the doorway with a smug grin on his face. "Your sister ran into
that nice Melvin boy today. He made a ninety-five on his quiz. How did
you do?"

The girl's face fell and she shrunk back. "Uh, I made a thirty..."

"Oh daughter! How could you disgrace our name that way! You...you break
your father's heart!" The large burly man fell to his knees and started
crying tears of bitterness.

The young girl was perplexed, she looked at him and started to sniffle.
"Oh daddy! I'm so sorry! I promise to study hard and do better next
time!"

"Oh daughter!" cried the man with a look of joy on his face.

	"Oh daddy!" said Amelia.

Gracia walked into the room and smiled demurely. "Dinner is ready!"

That night, Gracia was woken from her sleep by a gently purring next to
her pillow. She sat up and blinked.

"Oh, it's that little bald spot kitty!"

The animal stared at her and jumped off the bed. "It isn't a bald spot."

"Oh, that's nice," said the girl with a sweet smile.

The animal blinked, it had been expecting more of a reaction from her.
After a moment it shook its head slightly and smiled again. "I've been
looking for you, Gracia, I need you to do something for me."

"What's that Mr. Kitty?" said the girl sweetly.

The cat's grin widened. "Well, first I have a gift for you!"

"That's nice!" said the girl as she clapped her hands cheerfully.

The cat did a quick flip and a brooch landed at the girl's feet.

"Oh! How pretty!" She placed the jewelry on and smiled contentedly.

The cat narrowed its eyes and chuckled. "Now, say the word 'moon'."

Gracia blinked. "Ok, Moon Prism Power Makeup!" The room was bathed in a
huge light.

Molly struggled in the thing that looked like her mother's grip.
"Help!" she cried weakly.

"Heh! Your mother is tied up in the basement girl! Give me your energy!"
Neither of them noticed the thing in the shadows watching silently, it
was about to step forward when something happened.

"Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! Get your hands off her you ugly witch!" said a
loud voice from the door.

The thing turned it's head towards the newcomer and blinked. "Who are
you?"

"I'm glad you asked that insignificant worm! I am the defender of truth
and justice! The invincible Naga the Serpent Moon!" The figure standing
in the doorway was tall and very well endowed; long black hair flowed
down her back and she was dressed in what appeared to be a, black leather
and very skimpy, sailor fuku.

"Naga the Serpent Moon? I've never heard of anything called that!
Slaves! Wake up and give your energy to the omnipotent!" The thing raised
its claws into the air releasing Molly. Various people started to walk
into he building and lumber towards Naga.

"Ho ho ho ho ho ho! You think such foolish trickery will foil the
Serpent Moon? How foolish to think you could beat me! Take this! Demonic
Crystal!" Naga thrust her hands forward and the lumbering zombies were
encased in ice.

The thing backed away in shock at this. "What? How!"

"Now! I shall show you what happens when someone dares to challenge the
invincible Naga the Serpent Moon! Freeze Arrow!" The woman shot a spear
of ice that went into the evil thing's chest and laughed again. "Ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho!" She turned as a rustling sound started behind her.

"Serpent Moon? I'm impressed. My name is Zelgadis, we'll meet again!"
The black clad figure, who appeared to be wearing a full facial mask and
a tuxedo jumped away into the night.

She smiled as he left and placed her hand on her hip. "Of course he's
impressed! Come Xellos!" she beckoned the cat to follow as she walked out
of the room laughing to herself. "Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho!"

"This is most interesting," commented the cat with a wicked looking
smile on its face.

The victims of the youma who still remained free rolled on the floor in
agony as they tried to push the laugh out of their heads, Molly included.

An evil looking woman with her face hidden by a brown cloak smiled as
she looked into the crystal ball. A few locks of green hair fell from the
hood. "Naga the Serpent Moon? Quite a show, looks like I must hurry up."

Amelia blinked as her friend went on with her fantastic story.

"And then, Sailor V's partner came to save me! She had the most horrible
laugh, I almost though she was evil. If it wasn't for that I would have
seen her face!"

"I still think you're dreaming," sighed the shorthaired girl as she
poked at her lunch. "Hey, did I tell you my sister got herself a cat from
somewhere? She named it Xellos, and it has this weird bald spot."

"Gracia? That's strange," said one of her friends.

"I'll say, your sister is nice, but a little weird," commented Molly.

Gracia hummed to herself as she cut up the vegetables for that evening's
meal. He father sat drinking his coffee and reading the paper at the
table.

"Look daughter! There's a new super hero! I just don't know if I can
live in such violent times, you know how I hate to fight! Ha ha ha ha
ha!"

"Yes father," said the girl sweetly. She seemed completely oblivious.

Xellos sat on the counter nearby smiling to himself. "This is most
interesting indeed..."

	Next time: Sailor Mercury!

Author's notes. I think I can swing this with Sailor Ranmoon at the same
time. I think this one will be the most divergent of the two. More of
guessing which Slayers character gets what part. I've got it all planned
out already pretty much. As you can tell it's going to be funny. I think
veteran Slayers watchers probably figured it out early on, but those new
to the series or not yet finished watching it were probably kept in the
dark until near the end. Pretty much what I was going for.
