I disagree that Ranma is much different as a demon. His concern for human
life
(even one of his enemies) was always present in the series. He was the one
who
went the most for his most hated enemies and rivals. Ranma even helped Taro
and
Happosai when they were down, getting betrayed by them as the result. So,
Ranma
stopping Akane from finishing Urd off is pretty much IC for him, imho.
Pretty much. In Canon, the only person Ranma ever tried to kill was
Saffron. For anyone else about the worst he did was stand aside, and that
was only for people like Happosai or Taro who had worked at getting him to
dislike him.
And as for going to 'sort things out', this isn't their only reason. They
want
to get away from all threats, both to them and to the others, that might
get in
the way. I don't see Akane willing to put her family in risk when at least
one
goddess and several of the Nerima gang (Kodachi, Ryoga, Tatewaki, Shampoo
and
etc.) will try to attack them there. Another point to consider is that
Ranma is
acting 'tactically', not 'logically'. Ranma is a brilliant strategist, and
I
feel he's still in 'battle mode' for most of the chapter. He wouldn't make
many
mistakes if he's acting that way.
This I disagree with. Ranma is a superb 1-on-1 warrior and a very good (and
flexible) Tactician. As a Strategist, he generally isn't - he simply
doesn't think the right way to be a good strategist. For him it's what
works at the moment, not the overall picture. Nabiki is the closest thing
to a Strategist in the Tendo Household.
