Another point to consider is that Ranma is acting 'tactically', not
'logically'. Ranma is a brilliant strategist, and I feel he's still in
'battle mode' for most of the chapter. He wouldn't make many mistakes
if he's acting that way.
While I agree with most of what you wrote, there is a significant
difference between tactics and strategy. Ranma certainly is brilliant
at tactics, but strategy? Not as far as I've seen. As a comment on the
difference, I think that Ranma would probably do reasonably well in a
game of shogi, but not well at all in a game of go.
