Apparently there are a lot of men that read this mailing list, if
there were more women I wouldn't have gotten the replies about
Ryoga and Ayeka falling in love and wanting to stay together
forever. I believe, as do quite a few women, that when you meet
your soul mate then nobody or nothing else matters, just being
with that one person. I tried to convey that they are soul mates
that found each other, but some missed the point so this chapter
will try and explain the consequences of their devotion.
I don't own Tenchi or Ranma, I don't claim to, just my own sick
and twisted idea of a story.
Chapter Six
Ryoga and Ayeka
Ayeka awoke early and couldn't hardly wait to start her day, she
was starting a job today, but more importantly she was now ready
to begin a relationship with Ryoga.
Her return to Jurai had given her time to think about Tenchi, and
how she really felt about him. Yes, he was handsome and sexy,
but was she interested in him more because he was so much like
her brother Yosho? She always believed that they belonged
together because of the royal blood, but Tenchi was right, they
were blood relatives and the people of Earth have laws against
marrying a blood relative. He was right to chose someone other
than her or Sasami, even if it broke her heart. She stayed in her
room and cried until that sunk in, then she went out and joined her
sister at the bridge.
Ayeka wasn't happy about who Tenchi chose, that devil woman, but
what could she do about it? It was his choice, but maybe running
away was the wrong answer. She should be happy for them, but
instead she was feelling sorry for herself.
When they got to Jurai she cried on her mother's shoulder and told
her the whole story, only because she wanted to understand what
she was feeling.
"Mother, why does my heart ache so?," she asked so COMPLETELY
unlike Ayeka.
"You thought you loved Tenchi and you found he loved someone else,
it is not unusual for you to feel this way, but the pain will end once you
get back into your life here." Her mother's words were soothing and
soon Ayeka felt a little better.
"Does it always hurt like this?"
"Yes, unreturned love has destroyed many women. I wish you would
not dwell on this time but with all women you must I suppose. Just
don't linger on it, yes it was your first love but your life should not end
just because Tenchi loves Ryoko."
Sasami walked by her sister's open bedroom door and saw Ayeka
cradled in her mother's arms, thought about entering and decided to
just walk past.
"Mother, did this ever happen to you?"
"Yes, there was a boy at my school, I don't remember his name, but
I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He only had two girls
vying for his attention, me and another. The other one was loud and
crazy and uninhibited, I was quiet, reserved, and well, a prude. In the
end he wanted the craziness because he knew life would never be dull
for him. Then I met your father and all was well because he was looking
for someone just like me, and I fell in love with him the minute I saw him.
Now look at us, almost a thousand years later and we are still happy."
"What happened to the other couple?"
"They were happy until he died in a battle, he was a pilot for our military
and was shot down by a vicious bounty hunter. Maybe you know her,
Nagi?"
"Yes, I do know her, she was after Ryoko. Why did father release her
from her charges?"
"Azuza saw the love in Tenchi's eyes and wanted to help him since he
was going to be the new ruler of Jurai one day. He wasn't planning on him
abdicating his title following his ruling, but then he figured it was for the
best since Tenchi is an earthling and had too much of your brother, Yosho,
in him. It would have been pointless." She released her daughter and
stood up to leave.
"I am sorry things didn't work out for you and Tenchi, but I think that is
for the best as well. He didn't deserve you." She turned and left the room
with Ayeka watching her in silence.
Then she told herself that her mother was right. A few days passed and
she felt that she wasn't in the right place so she found her father to ask if
she could return to earth, when he refused she decided this wasn't home
anymore. As she was making up her mind about what to do she saw
Sasami preparing her ship, and her mind was made up.
Ryoga woke up feeling refreshed and at peace with life for the first time
since he was cursed. The most beautiful woman in the world wanted him
to stay with her, Ayeka, her name is Ayeka. He no longer felt any need to
go and kill Ranma for getting Akane because Ayeka put Akane to shame.
But there was something he had totally forgotten about, he couldn't think
of it so he got up and went down for breakfast.
Ayeka and Ryoga sat at the table giving each other sly looks that only
Sasami missed due to her young age. Ryoko and Tenchi exchanged
smiles, Nobiyuki and Yosho smiled to themselves thinking about their
respective wives, and Sasami just ate her breakfast in confusion.
When Ayeka got home from work she heard a familiar voice coming from
the kitchen, arriving there she found Sasami talking and laughing with
Washu.
Apparently Washu's plan for global experimentation was turned down by
every governing body on all continents. All she wanted to do was make
life easier for all by improving on the ozone layer, she didn't understand the
rejection since it was disintergrating anyway. Tenchi had said she could
stay as long as she wanted, so she was now a lifer here too.
At dinner there was more news, only this time it was from Ryoko who had
gotten the information from Ryo oki's communication unit.
"I checked Ryo oki's comm unit today and there was a message from
Mihoshi and Kiyone. It looks like Mihoshi got assigned a desk job, doing
what I can't imagine, and Kiyone got assigned to a new sector and is
getting along great with her new partner."
"I guess they won't be coming back then," Tenchi sounded a little sad by the
news.
"Yes," Ayeka agreed.
"Who are Kiyone and Mihoshi?" Ryoga wondered
"They are Galaxy Police officers. Kiyone was best on the force but she was
partnered with Mihoshi, how can I put this so it sounds good, ah, clumsiest."
Ryoko thought she was pretty smart not telling him that she was the most
stupid person in the galaxy.
"Oh," was all Ryoga could say.
"You will never guess who Kiyone's new partner is...", Ryoko said laughing,
"Nagi." She about fell over laughing.
Six people rolled their eyes to God and joined Ryoko in laughing while one
newly found boy sat in confusion.
End Chapter Six
