spammed.
I love Anime, but was never much interested by samurai movies. What is the
title of a police officer for the emperor who has the power from the emperor
to impose punishments on nobility?
What set of laws forbids a samurai from arbitrarily lopping off a peasant's
head? The Meiji Restoration? Something from the Tokugawa Era? Or the post-war
constitution?
I'm trying to write a scene where a well-educated police officer, possibly
from another noble family, who is well educated in Japanese history, tries to
convince Kuno, that as an appointee who can trace his authority to the
emperor, that his wishes (I.e. the law) outranks Kuno's (the delusional
Samurai and de jure head of the Kuno family). The police officer will be smart
enough not to mention to Kuno: "The occupation", "Democracy", or "Americans".
