I think the list's been through this one before, but IMHO, it depends
whether you accept the anime as canon or not, since the pelvic fortune telling
episode's the only place (to my knowledge) he's ever referred to as anything
other than Dr. Tofu or Tofu-Sensei. In the absence of concrete proof either
way, I consider Tofu to be his family name.(this is just personal preference,
mind)
Next, Taro isn't monster boy's (though it should be
monster MAN by now) family name either. In fact, his family name has never
been given.
Once again, I don't think it's ever been stated one way or the other
whether Taro is a middle, given or family name. In the interest of simplicity
and ease of reference, I consider it his family name, that's why his son's
family name is Taro. (That, and the fact that Koucho Kuno effectively disowned
Kodachi after she became involved with monster-boy, but that's merely implied
in my story, not explicitly stated.)
The thing of it is, you may be perfectly right on both counts, but I
needed a last name for Kuraburo, and Keiichi Ono or Ono Keiichi sounds
almost... binary. Both choices were made for purely esthetic reasons, in the
end.
Still, I DO appreciate the fact that you took the time to read my little
