I want to thank all that have replied to my submission and am
taking your advice and putting it in my writings. This fic is not
dominate to one series exactly, but follows the series currently
running on Cartoon Network mostly. I should have termed this
a Ranma/Tenchi crossover but when I started it wasn't supposed
do be. I don't own Tenchi or any other anime, just the ideas I
am putting down in this fic. Hope you like chapter five better.
Chapter Five
Ayeka Starts Over
The morning after Ayeka and Sasami returned from Jurai was a
beautiful morning, the birds were singing, the sun was shining,
and they felt like they were home.
The first thing Ayeka did was seek out Tenchi so she could have a
heart to heart talk with him, she found him in the carrot fields with
Ryo oki. Ryoko was not anywhere Ayeka could see.
"Good morning Tenchi, wonderful day isn't it?," she said as she
approached him.
"Yes Ayeka, it is. How did you sleep?"
"Great. I feel like I am home."
"This is your home Ayeka, it always will be for as long as you
wish, we are related after all." He smiled at her and she felt a
happy feeling coming from Tenchi.
"I am not sure Sasami and I should stay, after all you are married
to Ryoko now and we don't want to intrude."
"Don't be silly, you and Sasami are like the sisters I never had. We
are bonded that way. I have to say that I miss Washu and the others
though. I knew I would but I didn't think it would last this long. I thought
I would be happy to be rid of all the fighting but I guess I sort of need it
to accomplish anything." Tenchi looked off to the sky with a mournful
look on his face, then got back to digging carrots.
"Say, what are we going to do when your father shows up here to take
you and Sasami home? I am kind of worried about that?"
"I hope he doesn't, but I know he will," Ayeka frowned. "I guess I will
have to stand up to him and let him know how I feel." She wanted to
ask him how he got free of his title but didn't have the courage.
"Do you think that will really work?" He was hopeful but realistic.
"No, not really. Tenchi," she was kicking a rock. "How did you get my
father to release you from your title?"
"I asked him. But I am an earthling and don't know any of the customs of
Jurai so I think he just did it because he knew I would never come and
rule over Jurai. You won't be so lucky, but maybe in a few years Sasami
will go back and take your spot in line?"
"Maybe, since she and Tsunami are assimilated she will feel that it is more
her role than mine." She had eased her mind so she turned to go to the
house, turning she said, "I intend to go into town and see what kind of job
I can get today, I better get started. Bye Tenchi."
"Bye," he said while waving to her.
Back in the house Ryoko had now gotten up and was fixing herself breakfast
when Ayeka came back in
"And where have you been Princess?, as if I don't know?"
"I was talking to Tenchi getting a JOB if you must know." Sarcasm dripped
from her statement.
"I am sure you'll make a good maid at any of the hotels around, or a
waitress. Well good hunting." Ryoko went out to the hot spring for a dip,
she was stiff from their passionate love making session so she needed
to soak her body.
Upstairs Ayeka put on her best outfit and was getting ready to leave when
she noticed Sasami sitting staring out the window.
"Is there anything wrong Sasami?," asked her concerned sister.
"No, just thinking about Daddy. He's on his way here to make us come
home you know?"
"Yes, I know. Are you thinking of returning with him Sasami?" She wanted
her little sister to be happy so if she had to she would protect her from their
father.
"No, just wondering about Jurai's future, with us gone, who is going to rule
after Daddy's gone?"
Ayeka sat down next to her sister and hugged her, "I don't know Sasami,
we will have to see when we get to that point." She kissed the top of her
head then got up. "I am going to town to look for a job and I won't be back
until late, I'll try to be home for dinner."
"Okay"
Ayeka went to about fifty places looking for work and all she could get was
a minimum wage position at a grocery store, but yet it was better than
nothing. Lost in her own thoughts she wasn't paying attention and ran into
something that didn't move.
"Oh, excuse me I wasn't looking where I was going." She was looking at a
boy who looked completely lost.
He looked at her and through the stream of blood coming from his nose he
asked her, "Can you tell me how to get to Nerima?"
"No, I'm sorry, I am not from around here. The place I am staying at is just
up the road if you would like to come with me, I am sure someone can tell
you how to get there?" She was trying to be helpful although she had no
idea why blood was spewing out of the boy's nose.
"Thank you," he said following her.
"By the way, I am Ryoga, what is your name Miss?"
"I am Ayeka, it's very nice to meet you Ryoga. Do you have friends in
Nerima?," she was making small talk all the while thinking how good
looking this boy was.
"Sort of, actually all my friends are there. I was dating this girl who makes
Okynomiaki but she ran off with another girl, not surprising though, she
was basically raised as a boy."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Here we are."
The space ship in the front yard of the Misaki house was not a good sign.
"Please wait here, I will go and get someone to come out and give you
directions."
She went into the house and a few minutes later a boy about his age
came out, he seemed familiar.
"Ryoga, welcome, won't you stay for dinner?", Tenchi was his name.
"I don't want to bother you..."
"It won't be a bother, my wife always makes more than is necessary."
At that point yelling could be heard coming from inside the house.
Sasami and Ayeka's father had landed shortly after noon and he was
in a rage over his daughters' behavior. He expected it from Sasami,
but not Ayeka.
"You are coming back to Jurai immediately young lady!" Shouted
her father.
"I have a job in the city and I want to stay!," Ayeka was crying but
she still had her senses about her.
"If you stay you are disowned by the Jurai Royal Family and will never
be allowed to set foot on Jurai again. Is that understood?!!"
"Yes, I understand!," she shouted back.
"Let's go Sasami!"
Sasami didn't move, she was too scared to move.
"I want to stay with Ayeka," was all she meekly said.
"Fine, then I have no daughters left," he said as he stomped out of the
house past Tenchi and Ryoga. He boarded the ship and took off for
the last time. His daughters' never saw him break down and cry, he
would never allow it. He wondered what was so special about Earth.
They settled down to a quiet evening meal where Ayeka told of her
new job in Tokyo and how she was so excited about starting a new
life on Earth. The only thing missing would be the man across the
table that she was now falling in love with.
After dinner she and Ryoga went for a walk in the woods, she held
his hand so he wouldn't get lost.
"Ayeka, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. I am
so lucky." He thought of ways he could make it last but it was
all up to her really, he didn't think she'd want him after she found
out about the curse. He decided to tell her the truth and avoid the
problems later.
"There is something I must show you first though." He knelt down
by the lake and splashed himself with cold water, where in his place
was a small black piglet.
Ayeka was shocked at first, but then thought the piglet so cute and
she picked him up and hugged the piglet. Tenchi saw this and thought
Ryoga to be doing the right thing then went out with a kettle of warm
water.
"Here, he will need this to get back to his human form. Pour it over
him, then he should explain."
Once back in human form they sat on the bank of the lake and he
reveiled his curse.
"So, like Ranma who turns into a girl, you just turn into a cute little
piglet?"
"Yes, I guess if you say it's cute. I have been looking for a cure for it
but there doesn't seem to be one." He was looking over the lake.
Ayeka took his hand and squeezed it.
"I like it, in fact I love it." Being shy because of her upbringing and the
scene he had witnessed earlier, she almost couldn't ask what she most
wanted to, but she pulled the strength out of somewhere. "Ryoga, will
you stay here with me for awhile?, maybe indefinitely?"
Shocked he looked at her, with tears in his eyes he said, "Yes my love."
Then they kissed under the moon by the magical lake at the Misaki
Shrine.
