I don't have a claim on any anime, alive or dead.
Here is chapter four, I hope the first three were interesting. I
noticed that chapter one didn't get acknowledged until the
day after I sent two and three, sorry for any confusion I
caused. Now, without further mumbling from me, here it is.
Chapter Four
The Aftermath
The morning after Tenchi proposed to Ryoko and she accepted, Ayeka
and Sasami bid a rapid departure. Mihoshi, Kiyone, and Washu had
decided to see the marriage ceremony, Washu felt that Ryoko being her
daughter it was her place to stay and see her wed. Not to mention
"help" in any wedding plans there might be.
After months of planning and organizing and agonizing over every little
detail, the double ceremony of Tenchi and Ryoko and Ranma and Akane
was set. The ceremony was at the Misaki property, under the trees in
the shadow of the shrine.
Both brides were beautifully blushing and the grooms blissfully nervous
as they watched their loves approach the alter. They decided on a
Western style wedding so the brides could wear white, and there were
less rules they could break.
When the wedding was over and all the guests had gone home and the
newlyweds were on their honeymoon's, the ruckus finally died down.
Mihoshi and Kiyone went back to the Galaxy Police, and Washu wasn't
real sure what to do. She could stay based on the fact that she was
Ryoko's mother, but she had wanted Tenchi as much as the others and
it was bound to be uncomfortable to all. So she decided to slip away
without ever telling anyone, but Yosho could sense that she was gone
because the disturbances that she caused in her lab had ceased.
Yosho and Nobiyuki wandered around the empty house wanting some
action, but the most they got was Ryo oki stealing carrots. That was
another thing, they missed Sasami's cooking, now they had to fend
for themselves, and being men, they couldn't cook.
The quiet was so unnerving to the men that they turned the television
volume up to simulate more people in the house. The time alone did
give the men time to think, and after the silence sank into them, they
finally came to a peaceful spot.
They were very happy for Tenchi and Ryoko, but Yosho had wished
he had chosen Ayeka or Sasami. He understood Tenchi's desire to
distance himself from the Royal titles he held, because he himself had
done the same thing, but Tenchi held more power in him than Yosho did.
He knew that, and he knew all around had known too.
Nobiyuki liked having all the pretty girls to look at, now the only girl
in the house would be Tenchi's wife, he wasn't happy about that. He
hoped Ryoko could cook, but from what he'd seen and heard she couldn't.
He was looking forward to being a grandpa though. He thought about
hiring a housekeeper and cook, but he'd have to wait and see how things
went when Tenchi and Ryoko returned.
The newlyweds went and toured China, including the training ground
where Ranma had gotten cursed. It was beautiful, they took a lot of
pictures but didn't get too close to any of the pools for obvious reasons.
After a month they decided it was time to consider heading home, as
happy as they were Tenchi knew that it would be hard when they got
home.
It was harder than he thought it would be, his dad and grandfather
missed the girls horribly, Ryoko couldn't cook very well, and he had
to admit that he missed Ayeka and Sasami. He had told them they
could stay as long as they wanted but after his proposal they were
shamed and pride made them go home to Jurai. He wondered what
they were doing at that exact moment.
On Jurai Sasami was crying because even though Tenchi had chosen
Ryoko, she still wanted to help him and his family. She loved the whole
bunch and decided to take her ship and go back without Ayeka.
Ayeka was miserable because even though her heart was broken
she still loved Tenchi and Yosho with all her heart. Gaining all the
courage she had she went to her father to tell him how she felt.
"Father, there is something I want to discuss with you," she said
timidly.
"Yes my daughter?", he said full of fatherly authority.
"I wish to return to Earth and live the remainder of my life there, as a
human woman," matter of factly.
"That is out of the question Ayeka, you are the Crown Princess of the
Planet Jurai and you want to just turn your back on it? That is just
not possible, who will rule when I am gone?"
"I don't want to be the Crown Princess anymore, I just want to be Ayeka,
a beautiful woman with many suitors."
"No, that is my final word!"
When she left her father she went straight to the dock, where she
saw Sasami preparing her ship for departure. She took off her
headdress, laid it on the railing, and climbed on board.
"Ayeka, what are you doing here?," said a surprised Sasami.
"I am accompanying you on your return to Earth. If father hails us on
the radio I wish not to speak to him. Sasami, I am abandoning my
Royal status so I can be an Earth woman but father told me I could
not go. Please say you will help me," she was pleading with her little
sister now.
"Okay, I'm running away too so we just won't answer the radio,"
Sasami giggled at their predicament. "Too Tenchi's then."
Ayeka nodded, then never looked back.
They landed two weeks later beside the Misaki Lake wanted criminals,
okay not criminals, just as runaways. Tenchi saw the ship approaching
and realized what it meant, Ayeka and Sasami were coming back,
so he went and found Ryoko to warn her.
"Ryoko, Ayeka and Sasami are coming back. You won so there is no
reason to insult or try and bait her. Please say you will be nice and
try and make friends with her?," he pleaded with his bride.
"You are right my love, so yes I will try to make friends with her," a
smug look on her face meant trouble, he just knew it.
They approached the landing ship and the occupants descended from the
ship, smiling.
"Hi Tenchi and Ryoko!", Sasami squealed. "Did you miss us?"
"Of course we missed you Sasami!" Tenchi looked at Ayeka who was
staring at the ground, but there was something missing, then he saw
that her head piece was missing.
"Hello Ayeka, how are you?"
"I am fine Tenchi, Ryoko," she said sheepishly.
"Hi Princess, I hope your trip wasn't too bad?"
"It was fine, but I have no intention of being "Princess" Ayeka any
longer, just call me Ayeka." There was no hint of anger in her voice.
Tenchi and Ryoko exchanged looks and wondered the same thing, "HUH?"
"But why Ayeka?", Ryoko was truly worried she'd lost her marbles.
"I want to live here on Earth and have a normal life without the Jurai
Royal Family pestering me about my duties. My first mission is to
find employment here so Sasami and I can get our own apartment
as soon as possible."
"There is no need to do that Ayeka, you are welcome here for as long
as you like." Five faces all turned to Ryoko in shock at her =
invitation.
"Yes there is, we don't want to in the way..."
"You wouldn't be," came from Yosho, who with Nobiyuki made their
appearances later.
"Well then, I will still find employment to pay you rent then. We don't
want to be moochers forever, and that's final."
"Okay then, you can start looking tomorrow."
"All right then."
