The bane of his existence. The one shame he did not dare mention to
anyone else. The nightmare he could never be rid of. At least she was
using the phone.
"That last trinket's running low on juice already."
"Gimme a break! I put the same amount of juice into that as I did all
the others."
"Yeah, well, we've been seeing a lot of action lately. She'll need a
new attack within the week, and her friends will need their own by
month's end, at this rate."
"Alright, ok already. I'm almost done with the next one; I'll leave it
at the drop point tomorrow by noon. Just go away, will ya?"
"Ranma. You *know* the fate of Earth depends on Sailor Moon having
these weapons."
"Yeah, yeah. How come I never get any credit, huh? You either give 'em
to her, claiming they're from the Moon Kingdom, or make with the
flashing lights and swap it in, making her think *she* created 'em."
"That these objects will be there has been pre-ordained. The method of
delivery has not. Just as the Sailors have their secret identities, so
do you. Be glad for that, Sailor Smith, for your life would be misery
if they knew...assuming you survived."
"Yeah, yeah, I could fight them."
"After they announced their presence by leaving your fiancees' severed
heads on your doorstep?"

"The secret identities are all that prevents them from trying such. And
*you* don't have a magical disguise you could fight them with. I shall
visit the drop point tomorrow afternoon. Please *don't* make me have to
come over for an explanation." Luna hung up the receiver.
Minako tiptoed back towards her room. Luna saying she was coming over
to date Artemis was suspicious; the cat should have expected to be
followed after admitting that. Mentally crossing her fingers that the
phone would not be used again before she could hit "redial", she
wondered if this Sailor Smith was cute.
