Well, considering some recent events, it is perhaps time to do a bit of a
rave. As for the recent events, long story. You'd have to ask the other
prereaders of this work for some details.
Anyway, this story is *good*. Very good. If you like Bubblegum Crisis, read
it. Here's why.
Doug doesn't write like I do. I tend to focus on the microcosm; it's a lot
easier that way. Doug, on the other hand, has so many little plots going on
here and there that you don't know what to do sometimes. It's intricate, like
a fine tapestry. Looking at the big picture leaves the reader with one image;
focusing on the little things brings an entire new story - or, in this case,
several.
Then there's the characters. The story is an extrapolation of what the Knight
Sabers would be like by 2036-2037 - and man, does it have teeth. Nene's seen
too many people die; the innocent of the Sabers is anything but, now, and is a
hard-nosed detective for ADP. Priss has just seen too much; the downward
spiral she was on before has come to claim her again. Sylia is as calculating
as ever - but the risks are greater, the potential costs more deadly. And
Linna... well, you'll just have to see how far Linna's gone.
At any rate, it's a good work, an epic just beginning to really blossom. If
you want to read that rare gem of a BGC fic, read this. You won't regret it.
