Yo Rumiko, borrowed the kids so I can give them new problems to deal with.
I'll have 'em back in time for dinner.

The circle of life. Life creates life, life consumes life, and sometimes,
life takes life. A vicious circle that no matter how hard one tries, cannot
escape. But this tale focuses on the creation of life and room 348 of the
hospital is filled with the sounds of new life making it's presence known to
the man, woman, and the girl, who was only fourteen.
"She's beautiful," said the woman, her voice wracked by the pain of the virus
that was slowly consuming her.
"Yes, said the man. "You have done good." Carefully, he picked up the newborn
baby girl and held her to him. The baby opened her eyes and regarded him
carefully before she discovered her nose and crossed her eyes trying to get a
better look.
"Just like you dear," the woman said as she stood next to the man to peer at
the baby.
"You will not change your mind?" The man asked as he passed the baby to his
wife.
"No father, I will not," said the girl, her voice firm. "I'm not ready for
motherhood. But if you and Mother were to raise her as your daughter, I
believe I'm ready to be a big sister once again."
"Do you hear that Nabiki?" The woman asked the toddler sitting in the chair
in the corner. "You have a new sister." The girl looked up from where she had
been playing with fake money, her favorite pastime.
"Watevr," she said and returned her attention to the money.
"There is one more thing," the man said gravely to his eldest, who's eyes
were closed in exhaustion. "You must name her."
"Must I?"
"You carried and gave birth to her. I think you have the right."
"How about Akane?" Kasumi asked as sleep overcame her.
"Akane," Soun Tendo mused as he turned to his wife. "I like it."
"Welcome to the world," the woman said to the baby in her arms. "Akane Tendo."
End.
Note: Yeah, yeah, I know this aint canon. But I think it's a neat concept
(Though with my luck, it's been done). Oh well, if anyone wants to expand
upon the idea, they're more then welcome.
