Right, that seems to have stirred up quite a lot! ;)
Many, many thanks to all who mailed me about 3FT, saying they used it
and suggesting improvements. There's too many for me to reply to
individually, but thanks!
So, taking all your suggestions into account I'm going to do some
more work on it tonight. I intend adding the following features:
* As well as the option to force the file to be 7-bit US ASCII a
function to convert CP1252 ASCII (Windows) to ISO 8859-1 ASCII
(latin-1 standard) will be added. This will allow the use of
accented characters and the half, quarter and three-quarters
symbols (keep all the Ranma authors happy... ;) whilst still
keeping the fic valid on all but very old systems (they still
exist - there's one in the corner of the office here! ;).
* Add the facility to UNformat an already wordwrapped file for
people who maintain archives on the web.
* Add the facility to CHANGE the line length of an already
wordwrapped file.
* To solve the multi-OS problem, and the fact that a unix/linux
binary won't necessarily work on all version of those OSs I'm
going to make the source available under the GNU public licence
once I've made the above changes.
Bear with me... ;)
Oh, and the Dirty Pair reference? 3WA -> 3FT ;)
Cheers,
- Subi
