This is my rewrite of the "Drowned Girl." I did a major rewrite and change
the plot around and took it into a new direction. I agreed with everybody
who said that it was turning into a generic fanfiction. I hope this takes
it into a more original plot.
I do now own Ranma or any of its characters. I wish I did so I could
receive the praise and money from such a well loved series. A talented
writer and a whole bunch of men in business suits in a far away country own
Ranma .

Prologue:
The Amazon elder Cologne sat in her room meditating. She opened her eyes.
A sense of change was coming.
Suddenly, Shampoo burst into the elder's room. Her face revealed great
pain.
"Great Grandmother! Airen gone!" screamed Shampoo, "Shampoo can't find
airen anywhere!"
"What happened granddaughter?" said Cologne. Her sense of change turned
into a sense of sorrow.
Shampoo began to explain what happened to Ranma. A sudden revelation came
over Cologne. "Was this
the gem of revelations?" asked Cologne.
"Yes!" said Shampoo. The young Amazon was on the verge of panic.
Cologne stood up and moved toward Shampoo. "Oh my granddaughter, it is
time to end this chapter and
move to the next one. Are you willing to lose everything now?" spoke the
elder.
"What grandmother mean?" asked Shampoo. Cologne moved around her closet.
She pulled out and
opened an ancient book. "It is time you learned about destiny," said
Cologne
Part I:
Ranma stood over the edge of the cliff. He wanted to cry, but real men don
't cry. His breathing was
becoming heavy. He could hear screams and fighting following him from every
direction. Ranma
stopped and took a deep breath.
"I was so close," he muttered to himself. He looked down in his hands. He
was holding a palm sized
blue emerald. He thought the scroll and the legends were true. The scroll
was specific. Find the jewel
and make a wish and make it good, it said. Ranma searched long and hard for
it with the entire "Nemeria
Wrecking Crew" following. He wanted to cure everybody and finally get on
with his life. He thought this
jewel would finally help solve all his problems.
Ever since the failed wedding fiasco two years ago, it seems that the stakes
have gone higher. Shampoo,
Ukyo, and Kodachi have become more aggressive in pursuing Ranma's affection.
Ryoga has backed off
a little since he met Akari, but he still wants to finish Ranma off. Kuno
and Mousse still attack him constantly,
but they were always minor threats. He thought by going to the university
after graduation that he could buy
some more time and find a more peaceful resolution. It never worked.
Instead, he found himself struggling
to maintain his grades while dealing with his "fiances."
Wherever Ranma went, his suitors soon followed, along with chaos and massive
property damage. Akane
even became more violent and less restrained toward him. His father, Genma,
and Soun Tendo have become
more persistent in marrying him off to Akane. Their relationship has also
changed. Akane wanted to be an
actress. Their fights were now bigger. He was eighteen years old and
nothing was working out for him anymore.
"You foul fiend, Saotome! This is truly a fool's errand," screamed Kuno.
"This is all your fault, Ranma!" screamed Ryoga.
"Why can't I fix this?" Ranma said to himself, "Please."
"What the..?" Ranma didn't finish his question. His world became black as
he felt himself floating away.
Ranma woke up at the bottom of a large body of water. Ranma's eyes opened
to the bright lights coming
from the surface. Ranma heard an echo through the water. His danger sense
exploded in his head. He
pushed his confusion aside and pushed himself into action. As Ranma swam
out, he made out a few
images. It looked like two men in ancient Chinese armor were holding down a
person wrapped up in a
white sheet. It didn't look good.
Ranma jumped out into the water and high into the air. His sudden presence
seemed to have worked and
caught the men off guard. With his fighting speed, Ranma landed on a guard'
s head and knocked him into
the ground. The second guard swung a spear, but Ranma dodged the weapon and
implanted his foot into
the guard's face. Both men were knocked out flat on the ground in two
seconds.
Ranma stopped and looked around. He remembered where he was now. He was in
Jusenkyo. "How
the hell did I end up here?" he asked himself. His head was still swimming
from the experience. He
remembered holding a jewel and making a wish. Ranma reached into this
pocket and pulled out the
jewel. "Ok, you stupid jewel! What the hell happened to me?" yelled Ranma.
The jewel started glowing
and suddenly cracked and turned into dust. "Thanks," replied Ranma.
Ranma looked out and realized two things. He was soaking wet and still a
male. He was about to
celebrate his sudden cure from the curse when he realized there was a girl
struggling to get out of
some sheets. Ranma started taking the wrapping off. He stared that girl
and realized he was looking
at himself, his girl half.
"Holy shit," Ranma whispered. The girl looked at him with a blank
expression. He looked at the spring
and realized what he just done. Instead of the spring of the drowned young
girl, he created the spring of
the drowned Ranma. The girl started moving away from him. Ranma came to
his sense.
"I'm a friend," he said the girl. The girl did not respond and started
running away. "Wait! You might be
in danger!" screamed Ranma. He could see the girl running toward the Amazon
village. "I hope the
Amazons are there," he said to himself. He wanted to run after her, but
realized he had a more pressing
problem, the spring of the drowned Ranma.
He decided that no one must get into that spring. He began to concentrate
and focus his chi power. Ranma
let loose his most powerful chi-blast. The explosion struck the spring and
blew all the water into the air. He
let loose another blast and caved the spring in. "That takes care of that,"
he said to himself. He then looked
at the two unconscious guards. "I don't think I have to worry about you
guys," Ranma said as he started
walking away.
Ranma found himself sitting by a waterfall. He stopped by to rest and think
about what has been going on.
He got rid of the curse but at what price? He was in the past, way in the
past, since there was no spring
of the drowned girl. He also did not have any friends. Akane, Ukyo,
Shampoo, and even Ryoga were
gone. His life as he knew it was gone. On the other side, he was now free
from all his obligations.
He did not have to worry about any fiances or strange engagements. Ranma
stood up. "I am free!"
he yelled.
Ranma felt a tap on his head. He turned around and saw a familiar midget
standing on a wooden staff.
"Colo..," Ranma did finish his sentence as his world became blank.
Part II:
Ranma normally had a legendary instinct for knowing when danger was nearby.
The only one available
to avoid his "danger" sense was Dr. Tufo and an occasional martial arts
master, like the Amazon matriarch.
One thought kept running through his head. "How could Cologne be here?"
Today was not his day. Ranma had plenty of time to contemplate this as he
hanged upside down in a
village tent with two armed Amazon guards. He finally figured out that the
Amazon's must have caught
him. He remembered hearing Cologne and Shampoo talk about their long
ancient ancestry.
He cursed himself for not thinking ahead. Ranma was to close to the Amazon'
s hunting grounds.
He was outsider male too close to their own grounds.
His second thought was how he could have been captured so easily. It had to
be Cologne,
Ranma thought. No one else was able to get so close to him without his
danger sense going crazy.
Ranma was blinded by the sunlight as the door to his hut opened. A troop of
Amazon warriors
came in and slowly brought him down. They lifted him up and carried him
outside. He managed to
clear his vision. Many women were looking him over. Ranma cringed at the
thought of maybe having
to fight a lot of them off. They were probably already going to set him up
for a husband. They placed
him into a large hut. Ranma could tell this was the elder's hut.
"What's going on?" Ranma asked.
The Amazons and the elders murmured about themselves. Ranma couldn't make
out what they were
saying. One of the Amazon guards opened the door. Ranma's eyes opened
wide. Walking in was
the Red headed girl he was turned into and following her was Cologne.
"Cologne?" Ranma quietly said.
"My name is Soap," replied the elder, "you speak the language of the
island."
Ranma couldn't believe the resemblance. "I guess you can say I have
traveled far."
"My youngest granddaughter, Miyun, tells me that you were the one who saved
her," said Soap,
"for that, we are grateful. Our young village has been under constant
attack by Klun and his
marauders." Soap, Miyun, and the rest of the council bowed.
"Then why I am still tied up?" said Ranma.
"You are a male. We are a village of Amazons. Amazons do not trust
outsider males,"
said Soap.
"Some things don't change," Ranma spoke to himself.
She motioned for him to sit in the middle for an audience with the group.
Ranma was
still tied up, so Miyun helped him.
The elder motioned for the guards to leave. "This is a private meeting,"
she said.
Miyun looked at Ranma. He nodded to her and she reluctantly walked out.
"We have much to discuss," the elder. Ranma's eyes went wide. "I sense a
great
amount of power in you. From your battle aura, I can sense of some of our
secret
training techniques.," finished the elder.
"I guess there's no hiding it," he said. Ranma had to tell them something,
or else he
was going to die right there and then. He remembered Amazon law.
"I'm from the future," Ranma said. The council began to murmur among
themselves.
Ranma looked around to asses their reactions. He hoped they would at least
give him a chance.
After a while they settled among themselves. Soap stood up, "This comes as
a shock, but you
are the only male that knows our techniques. But please, you must speak
more about how you got here."
"I ask that this be kept within us," asked Ranma. The elder nodded. Ranma
began to recount how he
became cursed and how he attained a magical gem. He kept the details of
his Amazon connections
vague. He wished to fix everything and make things right.
"I assume Miyun would have been your cursed form?" asked the Elder.
"Yeah, I rescued her and now I'm cured but stuck here," he said. Soap and
the council members
contemplated Ranma's story.
"The young girl never drowned in the spring, so your curse is lifted," Soap
said. Ranma nodded.
"Please don't let her know," he asked.
Soap consulted with the elder and they all nodded in agreement. "Now,
there's the question of
what to do with you," she said, "You know too much of our ways to be an
outsider and we now
know we have survived."
"Is there a mirror in your possession with magical powers?" Ranma asked.
"No," said Soap. Ranma's hopes began to sink.
"There is a jewel similar to what you spoke off," she said. Ranma looked
up.
"But it was stolen by the savages along with many of our great treasures,"
said Soap,
"We will make you an offer. If you return our treasures, we will do all we
can to return you home.
"I guess I have no choice," finished Ranma. The elder smiled.
"You are perceptive young one. I'm sure you make your Amazon wife proud,"
said Soap.
Ranma cringed. She bet there was whole interesting story to that.
Ranma found himself resting in his hut. They were generous enough to give
him a warm bed
and blanket. He was also kindly asked to stay in his hut till morning.
Ranma knew better than
to try anything. The night came and his stomach was grumbling. He was
going to ask for food,
when Miyun and three Amazon women walked in with large platters of food.
Ranma bowed and began devouring food.
Miyun motioned for the Amazons to leave. "Miyun thank you for helping,"
said the girl, "sorry
for running. I not really know you language."
"It's ok, I can understand," Ranma said between his mouthfuls of food.
"Your going after them," Miyun said quietly.
"I have to," Ranma replied, "I need to go back home," he said.
Ranma finished his food. "It's far away, too far away right now," he said.
Ranma stopped and
smiled as he looked at Miyun. She was nothing like how he was in her form.
Ranma never
considered the gi rl he was cursed to become. She was a living person who
drowned in the spring.
He never once thought about her and he was starting to feel a little ashamed
of himself.
Miyun was demure and quiet, almost like Kasumi. Miyun almost died, but in
Ranma's time she did
die. The girl never had a chance to live or be happy. She died at the
bottom of a spring. "Not
anymore, Miyun is going to be happy and live now," thought Ranma. He had
already made sure of it.
"What's your home like?" asked Miyun. Ranma broke his train of thought.
"I don't think I have one," he said.
"Do you have someone?" Miyun asked hopefully.
"I don't know. Sometimes, I think I do," he replied. Miyun looked at him
strangely. Ranma sat
down and started explaining his many fiance situations. He made sure to
leave out the details of his curse.
"I understand your predicament," said Miyun, "my parents have decreed me to
marry a nobleman." Ranma
looked at her. She was on the verge of crying again.
"I know this man and he is cruel and old. I am only a trophy to be
displayed," she said, "I ran away and
found myself here with Amazons. Here, I no trophy."
"I am free to find love," said Miyun. Ranma was feeling a little
uncomfortable. The temperature seemed to
have risen. They both looked at each other for a moment. Miyun's eyes
glittered. She undid a knot in her
hair and let her red hair flow down. Ranma felt very uncomfortable. Miyun
slowly leaned over to him.
Ranma wanted to walk away, but instead, he felt himself leaning closer to
her.
Miyun whispered into Ranma's ear, "Amazons say women love men when men
defeat women in combat.
I no Amazon."
Ranma's hair stood on end. He put a finger on Miyun's mouth motioning her
to stay quiet. She looked at
with him and held her breath. Ranma's senses increased.
With a battle cry, Ranma jumped and crashed through the hut's roof.
Standing on top was a ninja dressed in
black. Ranma caught the assassin by surprise as he kicked the ninja in the
chest. The ninja crashed through
a nearby hut. The sleeping Amazons woke and began attacking the ninja. The
dark assassin threw a smoke
bomb into the area.
"Chestnuts roasting!" screamed Ranma. As the smoke cleared and the Amazons
appeared with weapons,
Ranma landed 687 punches into the ninja. The ninja was barely conscious.
"Why were you spying on me?" Ranma asked.
The ninja only babbled and passed out. "Ranma!" said Soap and she hopped
over to Ranma.
The elder tore the sleeve off the ninja's arm. It had a flaming lion on
it.
"A Klun spy," said Cologne, "His army must be near."
Ranma stood up, "I'm going after him."
"I'll send a group with you," said Soap.
"No, It's better I go alone," said Ranma, "I need to be quick and your
village needs to defend itself."
"Good luck," said Soap, "a scout just returned before this attack. She
reported Klun is hiding in the
woods to the south."
Ranma nodded. He picked up the spy and headed back into his hut. After a
few seconds, he reappeared
dressed in the spy's outfit. The torn sleeve was even sowed back.
"If I don't return, I'm sorry I failed your village," he said. Ranma
jumped on top of a hut roof and headed south.
Part III
To Be Continued..

Well, this is the rewrite after that first attempt. I know there are some
problems with grammar and such, but hey, its a rough draft. I wrote this in
an attempt to continue the Ranma series. I finally saw the final episodes
in spanish and it left a sour taste to me. I also promise to insert more
martial arts references into the story. I just can't get the spelling
right.
The next installment will be either be the final chapter to the story. I
still haven't decided how to end it, but I have an idea.
