Yeah, don't read unless you don't mind ruining the story of Perfect Blue.
I agree with you, up to a point. Fortunately for me, I didn't guess that the
killer was the killer at all. I had Mima pinned as I thought they were
copying "Fight Club" where she was two people at times. I was reeling from
the constant head trip they put you in most of the flick, trying to see what
was real and what wasn't. When Mima's "counterpart" jumped into the stage, I
figured her subconscious didn't like what she was doing with her new self,
and was acting on its own while she imagined herself elsewhere (ala Fight
Club).
I enjoyed the film more than you, but I somewhat agree with those three guys
in the video store when they talk about "Double Bind" except putting that
over this film. It doesn't do much original, but what it did do, it did
well. It categorizes with the original Scream movie for me...not completely
retarded like the rest of its genre, but actually quite enjoyable, for that
type of film.
I suggest renting/buying/ordering it (I watched it on Pay-Per-View).
