I have read the manga, seen the OAV and watched the TV series.
Not to mention the movies.
I've read every TM fic I've come across.
I even have dreams where I met the people in the story.
I...
I KNOW Tenchi.
So I decided to write a fic about the guy.
Oh, the fic started out well. I dont' excactly intend to write badly y'know.
I made a suiting plot, a really bad villain and a bunch of intersting people
that would tie in well with the old. BUT...
As I put my pen to the papper or more acurately, my fingers on the keyboard
keyes, I suddenly stopped. This was Tenchi. This was a guy who had 4-6 girls
living with him at all times. Of wich Kiyone and "human" Ryo-ohki were
interchangeable. (Not counting his daughter) What reason would he have to go
after another one?
For half a minute I balled around with the women he knew, trying to find
reasons the villain would take them, as well as opportunities for it. When I
decided against that I started inventing other reasons for him to go after
the villain. I got hung up for quite a while on the idea that the villain
had stolen Tenchis food every morning when they were kids, but then decided
against it. After all Tenchi isn't that depressed, right?
Tenchi is...
Wishy-washy, if you count the TV series.
Insanely powerful, if you look at the end of the second OAV.
and...
He has a light saber!
Can't have him without his Tenchi-ken now can we?
I started to think.
What makes up the character we all know as Tenchi?
Is it, his heritage?
The situations he continues to fall into?
Or the people he meets along the way?
W . H . A . T . . I . F ....
Tenchis grandfather was someone other than Yosho?
In what way would he differ?
Would it all crumble or would it become something entirely new and
unexpected?
Say Tenchi had been born on Jurai.
What would his reaction be to the people around him?
Would earth at any point be involved?
And if Tenchi happened to have amnesia, what then?
Would the Tenchi cast be used or not?
Would his view of the world differ too much?
Would he at all be the person we know?
Perhaps there is a possibility for Tenchi to have someone else in his
grandfathers place.
Perhaps there is a Tenchi born on Jurai.
Perhaps Tenchi is lost in the woods without memory.
Perhaps...
But then that's not the case is it?
Lets' make it.

This piece of fiction is in no way a retelling of the Tenchi OAV it has
differences that in some ways are quite obvious and some, not so obvious. It
is written without permission and I hope all the best to Pioneer and the
rest who own the Tenchi characters. ]
The name may be changed. If something else that sounds better comes up, I
will use it. I'm working on the introduction (I might send it tomorrow.)
Most of the fic is stenciled out. All i have to do is write. Comments are
