That was fast -_^ hope this keeps up!
The tech jerked upright once more and started typing. When his result came up
on the screen, he looked pale. "I think it's going to hit Megatokyo, sir"
"Where in Megatokyo!?"
"This is a new system for me sir. I don't know."
The commander looked like he was going to punch the tech, but instead he
snapped at another man:" Get me a line to Earth. We have got to warn them!"
"Yes sir, but don't you think they have already seen it?"
"DID WE SEE IT?" The commander bellowed. "NOW GET ME THAT DAMNED LINE!"

The 'new system' part ... I don't know, it's like a speedbump in the telling (at least for me). Determining an exact impact point from a few moments visual observation without any sensors should be on the
far side of impossible anyway. On second thought, it should be really, really hard to make a prediction like 'it's going to hit [insert anything smaller than 10 kilometers across]' even with full data on
an object. Aerodynamics alone could throw it off, maybe it would sound better if it said something like 'going to hit japan'?

Yay, a non-Ranma ff! Keep it coming!
(btb, I _like_ Ranma stuff, it's the proportion that could use some work)
