It doesn't work for me. It's not just that you slapped familiar names
on characters who had nothing to do with the original possessors of
those names, it's also a matter of just not caring. This could be
effective as part of a longer story that laid the groundwork for these
people's confrontation, and probably showed the consequences as well,
but as it stands, I don't understand these people, I don't know them,
and I certainly don't care about them. Even then, I'd suggest coming up
with your own names, because the story has nothing to do with Slayers.
