You've taken a genre and kept nothing but the names consistant. That's
it.
If I take a Tom Clancy novel, and rename all the characters within to
random Ranma names, does it become a Ranma fanfic? If I take Urusei
Yatsura, and rename Oyuki as Kei, and Benten as Yuri, does it
automatically become a Dirty Pair fusion?
Of course not! So, just how is this a Slayers fic? Neither backstory nor
characterization remain the same.

Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
