"You will stop drinking."
Misato stared at the Commander in what could best be described as
dull shock. "What?"
"Concerns have been raised as to your effectiveness being
compromised by your intake of alcohol. You will stop drinking."
Misato COULD have told Gendo to mind his own business. She could
have said what she did off duty was her business and only hers. She
could have told him to jump off a cliff.
She didn't. Such things didn't work with Gendo Ikari. Only one
thing so far did work-- do what he said.

"Are you all right, Misato?" Shinji asked.
"All right? I'm GREAT! I feel FANTASTIC! It's like a cloud has
been lifted from my brain! I NEVER felt so clear, so focused in my
LIFE! By heaven, I NEVER knew sobriety could be so... UPLIFTING!"
Shinji felt worried. Then again, he always felt worried, so he
didn't make a connection.

"She's what?"
"She's repainting the EVA units. In... ah... 'Cheerful' colors.
Says it will make people happier with them."
"What's got into her?"

"Who the HELL put lace curtains in my entry plug?" screamed
Asuka.
"Hey, YOU don't have a baseball poster in the way of your screens
at least," Shinji retorted, actually annoyed enough to generate a
facsimile of a spine.
Rei said nothing. Quietly, however, she decided that perhaps
there was something pleasant about the doilies added to the armrests.

"What the HELL has gotten into her?"
The medical specialist sighed. "It's really quite obvious.
Alchohol is a depressant. Without it, she becomes MUCH happier and
nicer and whatnot. She's... overcompensating. And it can only get
worse."

"You will drink a minimum of one 24 can case of beer daily."
"But.."
"That is an order. We will pay for it. You may choose the
brand."
