That is anime only...it is without a doubt one of my
least favorite episodes of any series...Ranma is out
of character...it was like they decided to take all of
Ranma's bad points, blow them up to hideous
proportions, and then forget all of his good points...
actually the reversal jewel episode also took place in the manga. I believe
it was in volume 22 or so of the mangas.

(He never gets anywhere faster than is
reasonable considering he can
probably walk 30 miles a day easily. Most of the
time, he is always on
Japanese territory, although IIRC he once wound up

consider that it was through using that weird weapon of saffron while he was
a kid.
