With Akane dead, wouldn't Genma try to push him
onto Nabiki or Kasumi?
There's still the promise to unite the schools.
Well, here, it's down to Nabiki, I think. Then
again, Ranma has been out of
it for the last four years, so even she may noy be
availiable.
And to answer Dave's question, I think Genma here is
fixated on Ranma
marrying, if not a Tendo and joining the the two
schools, a martial artist to
join their schools. From what I'm guessing, Genma
figures that Ryouko isn't
a martial artist of any degree, and she would bring
down the Saotome heritage
by distracting Ranma from the Art.

Yep. This Kagato is from the Tenchi Muyo! TV
series, which also means that
there will be no Sasami/Tsunami, no humanoid
Ryo-Ohki, no Lighthawk Wings, no
Dr. Clay and Zero, no Misaki and Fuhano (sp?), no...
Yeah and they're less powerful, and the time span of
their lives is more or less normal, and their
personalities are less.....extreme

Actually, I've always wondered whether or not
Ryoko really was a drunkard.
She certainly liked her sake, but there wasn't
really any evidence she was
an alcoholic (on several occasions, she went more
than a day without a
drink, and never experienced signs of withdrawl).
Perhaps she isn't in the show. Here, after Tenchi's
death, I can see her
getting herself plastered everyday just so she won't
have to remember her
failure to protect Tenchi.
I should have posted one of my responses to the list
instantly in the first place....it would have saved on
typing....anyway...yes....I think Ryoko binges more
than just being a general drunk....in the space season
she is drunk a lot more than she is in the Earth
season...so that combined with going on a month plus
long drinking binge for said reasons
above...withdrawal would be a worry...I just have to
work the shakes into it as someone pointed out to
me...

Actually, I read it the same way he does. Except
that in the Tenchi
universe, it's not bounty, it's "reward". But,
then again, look at the old
west - having a "reward" on your head generally
does imply your a criminal.
I just don't understand Ranma's "it figures"
response at Doc Tofu's when
Ryouga spills the beans.
I think he's commenting more on his life and luck.
Only to Ranma would
things like accidentally getting married to the #1
most wanted criminal in
the universe who's chased by bloodthirsty bounty
hunters happen.

Nagi and Ryoko are almost
friends. "Don't let anyone else kill you,
Ryoko."
Recall the beginning of "Speed"? To save the
hostage, shoot the hostage
yourself. This is basically what Nagi is doing. To
get Ryouko to stay and
heal to her peak level, cripple her.
Yep, not to mention it keeps Ranma from chasing after
her and she's not certain she can take him...*after
reading the Saffron battle I suspect that Kagato would
have a hard time with Ranma*....so several birds with
one stone
