I  am most certainly aware of this.  My story will be deviating from canon
on only two points:
1) His directional curse was done to him at Jusenkyou (not by the waters
however)
2) He has a selective memory loss (this was also done to him at Jusenkyou)

If you want more than a little hint as to what caused these things... read
the prologue first...
