The FFML, as we all know, went down.
When the FFML goes down, it's usually:
(A) the power cord got tripped over,
(B) too much spam flooded the FFML in too short a time period, or
(C) none of the above.
Given the flood of posts which the server vomited up today, I would wager
the answer is B.
Let's examine some of the crap that floated up out of the list sewer today,

*sigh* Doesn't ANYBODY read the goddamn FAQ anymore? Don't you KNOW you're
supposed to actually make an effort to FIND the damn fic yourself BEFORE you
post these? I've seen far too many of these recently. This does not bode
well.

WHO BLOODY CARES? If we want to hear news from the actual Nerima, we'll go
to a web news server that has Tokyo local news.

...nobody was speaking of mallets. -_- What the hell was this even posted
for? This isn't an anime newsgroup, pal. It's a fanfiction mailing list.

An "is the list down?" post.
Again, is anybody bothering to read the FAQ at all? Doesn't it say in big
bright shiny letters near the top of the FAQ *NOT* to post test messages to
the list?
If the list stops sending out mail for a long time, folks...don't post test
messages. Send a message to listar@fanfic.com (NOT ffml@fanfic.com) with the
body "stats ffml". If you get a reply and see "Vacation" in there somewhere,
you've been set vacation for some reason, and that's the problem. If you
don't get a reply back at all, then you know the list is down. It's very
simple, and even some of the more brainless people on this list can surely
figure that one out.

Remove yourself, airhead. You got a FAQ when you joined the list that told
you how to get off. Use it.
This is a fanfiction community, people. It's time we started exercising a
little intelligence and common sense around here.
