BTW since this is on the list... The dragon hair wore off during
the
Dragon hair storyline. Therefore any mention of the curse in a
post
thirty-eight storyline is wrong. After that story Ranma is no
longer
under the spell, he just wears the dragon hair for show now.
This is something I see all the time in fafics for some reason.
Hi, obviously you know this arch of Ranma... So, I figured I'd
ask you
this. Hopefully this isn't a bother but I've been confused about
what EXACTLY
happened in this story line as I haven't read all the manga yet.
(And thusly
stayed away from any use of this in _my_ stories thus far.) Did it
totally
wear off or does Ranma's hair still grow while he's in female
(Male?) form?
Simple enough.
The dragon hair does not work on women, therefore, Ranma's cursed form
is imune. The story revolves around Happosai, Genma, and three little
dumpling headed guys trying to steal the dragon's wisker that Ranma keeps
his pigtail tied with. [BTW Genma does get his hands on it, but doesn't
know how to use it.]
Akane walks in on Ranma washing his hair one day in the sink. She asks
him why he doesn't undo his pigtail and he refuses to say why. The three
Tendo daughters try to force him, but he runs away before they can.
Later, the pigtail comes undone when the three dumpling headed men show
up and try to take it. Ranma runs off and Akane chases after him only to
find him with about twenty feet of hair. Cologne shows up to explain
things and tells them that the dragon wisker doesn't work on women.
The three dumpling headed men run into Happosai who forces them to tell
them about the dragon wisker. He tries to steal it for himself which
leads to Genma finding out about it. He tries to steal it as well.
Basically what happened is Ranma stole a man's soup while he was in
China. It was right after he got cursed, the soup had the dragon's wisker
in it. When eaten in a soup the Dragon's hair will cure baldness, but if
someone with hair eats it his hair will grow uncontrolably until he runs
out of hair.
The man gives Ranma a wisker to keep his hair tied down and stop the
growth.
In the end the wisker wears off before Ranma loses all his hair and
everything returns to normal. [The three thousand year freshness warantee
wears off. Ranma never finds out about this though. Shampoo manages to
scam the three dumpling headed guys into a dragon wisker soup dinner
after the story ends.]
Ranma does keep the wisker and continues to wear it anyway.
BTW... One thing I just noticed. Because of this storyline, Ranma will
be bald when he's older. Cologne mentions it in the end of the story.
Thus all these fanfics with Ranma's pigtail flowing down to his back are
basically wrong. Ranma's going to be as bald as his father is when he
gets older.
