You can download the rest of the manga for free at:

Yeah, but it's a whole lot easier to flip through hard copies.
I wasn't exactly doing an in depth report.
Thanks for the address, though.

What about the time Happosai used it on Ryouga? The one where
it shows Akane fighting in her sleep.
Also,

Hmmm... I don't have the gumption right now to go find exactly where again,
but I know you missed at least one mallet - Happosai uses a small mallet in
the story where he is dressing up as P-chan to sleep with Akane. It too
suddenly appears from nowhere. (Ryoga was holding the disguised Happi -
then Happi's standing over Ryoga - who has many cartoon bumps on his head -
and twirling a small mallet.
Yeah, I passed over that scene because I only noticed that Akane
was hammering boards over her door to keep Ranma out of her room.
I didn't count that as a malleting and didn't look down at
Happosai using another hammer to kayo Ryoga's cursed form.
Anyway, the Myth of the Mallet, and it's relation to Akane, as well as the
way it appears and disappeares is more a product of the Anime - and to
video games.
Which was the point of this whole exersise. Well, that and that
I was bored.

Mallet

There's another time that Akane has a mallet. When they're at the park,
Akane gets mad at Ranma and pulls Ryoga off with her. This is when they
have the waterproof soap. At a restaurant, she pulles out a mini-mallet and
bonks him on the head. Shortly thereafter, Akane has Ranma dress up as her
in order to take Ryoga's bone-crushing hug.
Right, there's another two instances I missed, and the mallets
appear out of nowhere here. Akane clonks Royoga with the small
mallet to wake him up in the restaurant. Later she deals Ranma
a blow to the head with a medium sized mallet when he insults her
at the water park.
Finally:
I found another malletting myself. During the Love Pill scramble,
Shampoo acted as bait so that Ranma could wrap Happosai in a fishing
net. Happosai slipped free and pulled out a mallet that was twice his
body size. He used this huge mallet on Ranma and escaped.
So, to update my summary:
1> Kodachi vs Akane :
No hits. Akane disarms Kodachi.
2> Happosai vs Ryoga (P-Chan) :
Used small mallet on P-Chan so he can sleep with Akane.
3> Happosai vs Ranma :
Uses a huge mallet on Ranma while escaping from fishing net with
the braclet of love.
4> Akane vs Ryoga :
Small mallet was used to wake Ryoga on their date.
5> Akane vs Ranma :
Medium sized mallet applied to Ranma's head for delivering an
insult.
6> Akane vs Ranma :
Akane was given a mallet by Kasumi and used it on Ranma for
'taking a bath' with Shampoo.
7> Akane vs Ranma :
Akane started to appologise to Ranma for hitting him, then
malleted him for hugging Shampoo durring the appology.
8> Akane vs Ranma :
Akane stalked a gloating Ranma with intent to mallet.
9> the Principal vs the Students :
Principal. Kuno attempted to ambush with intent to mallet - Kaoed
before use.
10> Akane vs Happosai :
Akane attempted to get a cure for the Moxibustion of weakness but
was unable to come close to hitting Happy.
11> Ranma vs Happosai :
A weakened female Ranma was unable to even lift the mallet thanks
to the Moxibustion.
12> Ukyo vs Ryoga :
Ukyo used mallet as a sedative on an injured Ryoga.
13> Yotaro vs Ranma :
'Weak' boy used two mini mallets.
14> Ranma vs Ryoga :
Ranma removed the Mark of the Battling God by pummling Ryoga.
15> Kuno vs Ranma :
Wishbringer became a mallet.
16> Akane vs Kuno :
Akane saved a drugged Ranma from an amorous wolf (Kuno).
There may be other instances, but I don't really want to know
about them. The fact that you have to search for them proves
the point.
What was the point? Just that the fanfic convention has Akane
as the sole user of a mallet, and Ranma as the sole target. Whereas
mallets are rarely used in the manga, and not always by Akane or
against Ranma.
Who cares? Probably nobody. Some people think the mallet-gag is
funny, others think it's over-used. Me? I think it depends on how the
author puts it in the story. In a humerous tale - okay; in a serious
plot - bad.
