Just a note in case anyone's noticed that the first half of this is
identical to when it was last posted. No, I'm not ignoring the C&C I got
on it. It's just that getting the rest of the chapter out took priority.
Rest assured that all comments on the first half have been saved, and
will be taken into account when I do get a chance to revise.
