Uh... I'm not sure what to say about this. Let me start
with a little vocabulary:
Estrus: The periodic state of sexual excitement in the female
of most mammals, excluding human beings, that immediately
precedes ovulation and during which the female is most
receptive to mating; heat.
Rut: (1) An annually recurring condition or period of sexual
excitement and reproductive activity in male deer. (2) A
condition or period of mammalian sexual activity, such as
estrus.
When used as a verb, rut is intransitive (it doesn't take
an object.) You don't "rut someone;" you "are in rut."
Obviously, the biggest problem is that Inu Yasha wouldn't
be in heat, since he's not female (unless he's been hiding
another secret... Then again, those clothes *are* baggy. :)
It would be the *female* demons that go into heat; the
opposite of what you said.
I also spotted what looks like an inconsistency. Male demons
give some of their power to the females so they won't be killed?
And yet you say that they prefer human females because they
have more stamina. Say what? There's no way I'm going to
believe that female humans are tougher than demons.
I think you may need to rethink your premise a bit, here.
If Inu Yasha smelled a demoness in heat, he'd want to mate
with her. But it wouldn't just make him generally horny; for
example, Kagome wouldn't smell right to mate.
Alternatively, if Inu Yasha ruts, than you don't need the
female demons at all... It's just "that time" for him. :j
Then again, the complexities of demonic sexual intercourse
are made up, anyway. They don't have to stick to close to
the biology we know.
In all, I though the fic was okay. As I said, there were
some inconsistencies, but it didn't feel quite so arbitrary
as most lemons.
