i'd like to believe that the
revival of this project has got nothing to do with the
success of 'Children of an Elder God'.
Nah... it just happens to have the word 'God' in the title.
Their gods and mine are different. Aheh. Although, I'll admit
I love that series.
Not that I'm complaining,
NGE has got a powerful internal logic that causes fics to do
the same things over and over again. Elseworlds can be lots
of fun if managed well.
That's what I love about the things. ^_^ Logical extrapolation
from base conditions.
I'll gripe about the lack of line breaks between paragraphs.
Ack. Okay, I'll fix that. ^^; I always write that way,
I'm afraid. Really have to break out of the habit.
Ok. Done. Kaji picks up Asuka from the train station. They
are chased by strange creatures. Shinji kicks their asses
but Asuka saves the day when she catches a bullet aimed at
Kaji's heart.
Eye, actually, but close enough.
In short, Shinji and Asuka are super-heroes!
Well... kinda. It's more complicated than that.
I've been long out of touch with DC stuff so I don't really
know who Shinji and Asuka are supposed to be. Would Scriviner
be kind enough to idiot-proof the fic with a short author's
notes so that i can go 'Doh!'? On the whole this looks like
fun - the textbook way of writing a first chapter that engages
the reader's interest and piques their curiosity. A few graphics
as teasers as well but haven't gotten round to them yet.
Textbook? Er... darn. Not quite what I'd aimed for, but
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. As for 'idiot proofing'
it would kind of give too much away, but the pictures are
kind of a big clue. On the other hand, I'd like to repeat
AGAIN, that this isn't a DC fusion. There's a reason why
their outfits are like that and it's very simple, and I know
it's gonna get my ass kicked.
This Asuka is definitely different, she's almost Shinji-esque.
Um... not quite.
What's her parents' relationship to Kaji?
Can't say just yet.
Shinji is, well, I
wouldn't say Asuka-esque as in anime-series obnoxious but
definitely confident. This sort of reminded me of the Avengers/
Ranma fusion (what's happened to it, btw, does anyone know?).
Never saw that...
This looks really promising, hoping to see more!

Um... incidentally, for everyone who's wondering who Rei is
supposed to be emulating (kinda) there's two big clues. Look
at the blue-haired Rei on the left. Now look at her chest,
and remember what Asuka always used to call Rei in the original
series. Not 'doll'. The other sarcastic name. Clear? Okay.
First one to give me the right guess from those clues... and the
first one to give me the CORRECT guess based on the story get to
read the side stories ahead of everyone else. ^_^
