For those who have trouble reading the maps available on line...
1. Chiyoda (in the center). Contains Imperial palace, and the Diet
building. Also and the Tokyo Dome baseball stadium. The Ginza district
is part of this ward and so is the Roppongi district that Akemi Roppongi
was named after. Both are good places to get drunk and party. Most of
the embassies are in Roppongi. Also contains the National Sumo Arena.
2. Chuo (docks east of Chiyoda)
3. Minato (South of Chiyoda, west of bay) I think it is the site
of Sailor Moon. It also has a big commercial fishing industry, but
Sailor Moon's residential district would be to the west of all that.
4. Shinjuku (Commercial district west of Chiyoda). Site of Demon City
Shinjuku. Has the biggest and busiest rail station in Tokyo. Has a lot
of shops and office complexes.
5. Bunkyo (North of Chiyoda and Shinjuku)
6. Taito (North of Chiyoda, west of Bunkyo) Contains Tokyo University
in the Ueno district. In Part 11 of Volume 1 of "Mai, the Psychic
Girl", university students from in Ueno take her in and try to conceal
her from her pursuers.
7. Sumida (West of Taito)
8. Koto (East of Chuo, south of Sumida, north of bay)
9. Shinagawa (South of Minato, west of bay)
10. Meguro (Northwest of Shinagawa)
11. Shibuya (North of Meguro, south of Shinjuku) Nightclubs and
fashionable boutiques. The Meiji Shrine has fancy gardens and a lot
of them.
12. Nakano (West of Shinjuku)
13. Toshima (North of Shinjuku, west of Bunkyo)
14. Ota (Southernmost part of Tokyo, bordered by a river on the south)
15. Setagaya (West of Meguro, north of that river to the south)
16. Suginami (West of Nakano)
17. Nerima (Northwest end of Tokyo, north of Suginami) Actually a
quiet residential suburb, not wacky at all and relatively low income.
However is the site for Ranma 1/2, Maison Urusei Yatsura, and Nuku Nuku.
Ryoga's house is not in Nerima. It is probably in Itabashi or Suginami.
Takahashi lives there.
18. Itabashi (West of Nerima. Bordered on the north by a main
waterway passing through Tokyo)
19. Kita (West of Itabashi with the same northern border)
20. Arakawa (West of Kita, north of Taito)
21. Adachi (North of Arakawa and that waterway. Bordered on the east
by another waterway.)
22. Kasai (South of Adachi, west of Arakawa. The two waterways combine
at the south tip of Kasai)
23. Edogawa (Northeast of Tokyo bay. East of Koto)
To the south of Tokyo is the city of Yokohama, the port that Commodore
Perry sailed into.
