Ranma 1/2 belongs to Rumiko Takahashi, Viz Video, and Kitty film-- and anyone else that I'm forgetting or added in by mistake...

Anyway, on with the songfic :)

(Ranma's lying in bed in the middle of the night, unable to get to sleep. A few minutes later, he hears a small scream from Akane's room, and runs to check on her. When he gets there, however, Akane's safe in bed, still sleeping)

 She keeps me up at night
 but in her bed she will dream

(Ranma sighs in relief, realizing she was only having a nightmare.
He stays in her room for a couple more minutes, watching her sleep,
then sighing, turns around and heads back to his own room.)

 I know it's wonderful
 But I gotta get back to reality--

(Lying in bed, Ranma thinks back on Jusendo and looks troubled
when he remembers how Akane had almost died)

 It's a pain like thorns in my side
 The more she stays the more it hurts in--side

(He smiles as he remembers how cute she had looked in her wedding dress)

 I need to go but she chains me down

(And then he gets angry as he remembers how everyone destroyed their wedding and the Nannichiuan)

 I'm going crazy get me out of this town--

(Show various instances of Shampoo glomping him or running him over
with her bicycle... Ukyo hitting him with her giant spatula... and Kodachi attacking him with her ribbon)

 Of their love I'm a prisoner
 I know I gotta get away from here

(Show Ranma running away from them)

 I gotta get away...

(The next day: Ranma wanders around town aimlessly, trying to figure
out what to do about his fiance problems)

 I'm climbing a ladder to nowhere
 And there's nowhere I can turn
 I lost the directions long a--go

(He considers just leaving, but then thinks of Akane)

 I only have one path to choose--
 And that's to go but there's too much to lose

(Ranma stops... surprised to find Akane standing in front of him.
She tells him to hurry home, but he refuses)

 To her I am just a slave

(She gets angry and advances towards him. Ranma backs up, waving
his hands in front of him to calm her down)

 Your wish is my command--

(She then drags him back to the house by his pigtail.)

 I need to break away
 But it can't be.

(He glares at Akane as he's dragged away.)

 I am forever condemned--

(When they get back to the Tendo house, Ranma discovers that Akane had cooked him dinner.)

 Of her love I'm a prisoner
 I know I gotta get away from her

(She hands him a bowl of food-- her eyes shining expectantly)

 of her love I'm a prisoner
 I know I gotta get away from her--

(He looks down at it nervously, his eyes shifting to the door)

 Of her love I'm a prisoner
 There's no way I'm gonna get a--way

(And then... very slowly... he takes a bite.)

 I'm in love, I'm her prisoner
 There's no way I'm gonna get away from her

(Seconds later, he opens his eyes, surprised to find himself still conscious. He hands her his bowl and asks for seconds)

 Of my love I'm a prisoner
 and for now
 I'm glad just to be with her--

(Akane smiles.)

 Of her love I'm a prisoner
 I guess this means I'll stay with her,

 maybe I'll stay -- yeah yeah
 yeah yeah yeah--

(At that moment all of Ranma's fiances break through the house.
Ranma grabs Akane and runs out of the house with her.)

 Nevermind. I gotta get away--
 Because I can't stay here

(Akane glares angrily at him when they finally stop running)

 I need to get away
 Before it's too damn late

Okay. Please, please, PLEASE do not e-mail me telling me how
out of character they are in some parts. I already know.

This is my first songfic so I'd like to know what you thought
about it. (Although, I really don't care if I did it all wrong.)
And if that *is* the case...
Then just pretend I started an entirely new unique syle or
something...

Any other comments, or questions are welcome!

Oh yeah. And if you're wondering-- this song is by a band in my school called, ZAE. They're REALLY good. And I did change some of the lyrics at the end to make it fit the descriptions above it a little better...

Also, I'm going to try to put the song somewhere on my page so that you can hear how it goes... the quality won't be too great however since I recorded it with my little microphone...
