Your're not really supposed to use perantheses unless in a quote or an
informative text such as a history book.  Also use an apostrophy when
emphasizing words.  This should be phrased: "From the sounds he heard, her
night of 'entertaining' had gone well."

And the double parentheses (which I never use (unless I'm programming)) is even worse.

man once said, "Do not use big words where diminuative words will suffice."
A wise man once said, "Using forigne
words is not apropos."
A
wise man once said, "Alot of people never use the write words."
A wise man once said, "All verbs HAS to agree with their
subjects!"
A
wise man once said, "Don't use contractions, they arn't proper."

A wise man once said, "Go away! And take your stupid tape recorder with you!"

I do not own a lap-top, so maybe they do shut themselves down
automatically.

Some computers can do this, and there are a few programs with a "shut-down once completed" option, so I'd say it's perfectly all right.
