You raise a good point, and you're quite correct in that.
I suppose it simply depends on your POV. I like to believe I can remain
detatched and still write a good story filled with emotion. I like to believe
I've suceeded. I'd like to believe I'm rich and famous.
That last one I'm working on :-)
Still, there is something to be said for getting emotionally involved. I
suppose it simply boils down to the athsetics of style.
Some may favor emotional involvement, and some, like me, favor detatchment.
This is what makes fanfic so interesting.
