Am I wrong? Perhaps.
Everyone has their own style of writing, this must always be kept in
mind. This doesnt mean your completely wrong, I am merely pointing out
that one persons style of writing is not for everyone. Just like everyone
thinks differently when creating a fanfic, for instance some people will
think in a logical procession from point A all the way to point E while
others may think of point A then jump to point C then back to B to fill
in the gap.
True I may seem insane but being a bit crazy never hurt, well its never
hurt me;)
Though you may be correct in thinking that a certain amount of detachment
is necessary to write (type?) a fanfic, yet it would be hard to remain
detached for a extended length of time when your researching certain
characters and trying to figure out what would be OOC for them.
What am I getting at? Total detachment may ultimately fail, while a
certain level of detachment taking the form of control, that is control
in not making a fanfic where your favorite character gains enough power
to do nearly anything, wont fail for a long time.
Then again I sometimes find such fanfics entertaining:)
I could try talking for hours but the plain and simple truth is that
the final decision is up to the author her/him-self. Then again the
topic youve brought up may inspire some interesting conversation.
