Koshikuri theater this weekend. It's only sixty-five hundred
yen per person. It goes from early Saturday to late Sunday!"
Sorry to nit-pick but...
At Warner-My Cal out here in the country a movie is normally 2,000 yen, and
late night special is 1,200 yen... for the newly released movies. First of
the month special is 1,000 as is ladies night on wed. I have yet to see a
late night movie start later than 9-something.
NOTE: I have often noticed people mis-price things in yen. 100 yen is
ROUGHLY equal to 1 dollar, HOWEVER... a coke runs about 120 yen from 80-90%
of vending machines. A double cheese burger set from the good 'ol golden
arches costs 500 yen.... as a conparison.
"You're late, Nabiki," the dark hulking shadow said. The
room she stepped into was steeped in shadows. Dim light
could be seen in streak of sunbeams coming through the
cracks in the boarded up windows.
"I had to lose that someone that's been trying to follow me,
Mikaru." Nabiki lit up a cigarette. "You have it?"
A smoking teen in Japan?? Actually farily normal. Including alcohol
consumption as well. The LEGAL age of these activities would be 20
though...
"Yes. Do you have this weeks profits?"
Nabiki nodded. A sly smile played on her face. "Don't I
always? I'm not Toshi. He was stupid and got caught." And
I've also got enough stashed to cover a week's loss if I do
get caught
Selling drugs in Japan? Hmm. I am doubting the probability of this
occuring. The drug laws in Japan are s t r i c t to say the least. For
foreigners it is a quick trip to a month or so of jail followed by
deportation from the country and being banned from reentering Japan. Even
marijuana isn't seen as something to even "experiment" with in Japan...it's
in the same category as acid, crack, etc.
