It seems that people generally have a low opinion
toward Ranma's ego, as far as this discussion is
concerned. Most say that they don't want to see Ranma
more arrogant than he already is. The problem is the
unlikeliness of Ranma depending on such means to be a
champion; that is to say, he doesn't have to.
Martial arts is one of the few things he can take
pride in (the only other thing is probably his looks
^_^;). If he did take the super-power soba, he might
be happy for a little while... but very soon, everyone
around him will cease to respect his skills. "Oh,
Ranma is just a joke. He needs to be drugged up to
fight. What a coward!" Would he be able to stand up to
that kind of humiliation, knowing they are right?
People with inferiority complex criticize themselves
the most; unless Ranma KNOWS for a FACT that he's the
strongest by FAIR means, he wouldn't be satisfied.
Pride isn't necessarily a bad thing. If it's
applied right, people tend to stick to fair play more
often than not. That's why I believe that if Ranma
took super-power soba, sooner or later he would
actively try to cure himself of it, just to prove that
he doesn't need something like that to be a champion.
