So are you saying that we should refrain from C&Cing a story until it >is
completely finished? I'm not sure I would agree with that >approach. What
is the point to the FFML then? No one has been overly >negative, they are
merely giving their opinion, most of which happens >to be critical. If an
author has a problem with criticism then he >shouldn't ask for it.
I wasn't saying that at all. I fully believe that C&C is important,
especially if you want to improve your writing. What I meant was, if the
author acknowledged what you're saying, and decides to do it his/her way
anyway, let's not send 20 messages stating the same thing, and just wait and
see how it turns out.
What most are saying and what I agree with is that with what we
currently know of the characters we have a hard time believing the
characterizations and that this is something that will need to be
addressed in coming chapters. We're not saying Ranma wouldn't act >this way
necessarily, we just want a believeable explanation. Isn't >now the best
time to give input that could possibly effect the story >outline?
Yes, but, not to speak for the author, wouldn't getting 20+ mess. about
the same thing become a little annoying after awhile? If someone wants to do
things a little bit differently from what is accepted, why not let it go,
and wait for upcoming chapters?
Isn't that what this list is for?
Sure. But, isn't the list ALSO about enjoying a story about your favorite
characters, and writing one yourself? Even if it goes against what is
accepted.
